The Sati treatise enters by relying on a slight method of accomplishing the benefit of individuals. What is not needed by individuals becomes completely unrelated, therefore it becomes not annihilation, because there is no reason for not accomplishing the desired meaning. That matter of accomplishing the benefit of individuals, it is also not necessary to show many non-benefits that are not relevant at that time, such as the fruits and flowers that exist on empty islands, each being determined. What are the natures that are not related to others, and the entrances of the minds of individuals are different. The reasons for entering into various desires in this way are not uniquely determined, because they are not determined by previous habits, the influence of places, friends, and efforts, etc. Therefore, their methods of accomplishing benefits are also not different in the slightest. Such meanings, which are different due to the distinctions of time and place, it is not reasonable to consider them as appropriate at that time, because they are not needed, or it is not possible to separately determine and show the differences in their substances. Therefore, they are not the objects taught by the scriptures, therefore they cannot be established as non-existent by inverting the scriptures. The infinite individual definite meanings, because they are eons, cannot approach knowing their own meaning, because it is only when they can generate direct perception that they are. Similarly, with the word "thus," it cannot be established that direct perception is inverted and non-existent, because it is not an object, connecting and showing as before. It is not denying that arising has no measure, but measure does exist. Therefore, it is shown that because one sees the measure, one should not abandon it. One cannot refute merely because one has not seen it, therefore, in this case where one should refute, the seeing seen from this shore is not grasped by the meaning of nature or the meaning of relation, because one cannot determine everything. When a result arises from a cause, although it will definitely arise, one cannot determine it merely by seeing the cause, therefore it is not established as becoming knowledge of what will arise in the future. Therefore, merely with this seeing, it is not that the result will not arise in the future, because the descendants of those that were not seen before,

It is because seeing the arising of the fruit becomes clear. Therefore, because there is no direct perception and inference, it cannot be established that there is nothing. The sound of the scripture also cannot make one understand that there is nothing, thus connecting. Why is that? Because sound does not necessarily enter as things are. What is intended to be said is immediately following, which means related to it. If it is said that intention enters as things are, then it is said "all the intentions of people" and so on. The meaning of "as it is," with words such as seeing, etc., is to completely include faults such as attachment and agitation. If one can know the distinction of such a person, then such a person can show the meaning without reversing it with these words, and I also think so. Therefore, those who send thoughts in advance, wanting to enter that scripture, contemplate whether the scripture is trustworthy or not. After examining it, entering the completely pure scripture is just meaningless labor, and encountering other unwanted things, it will not become afflicted. The scripture is empty because it examines its own nature, and enters by examining the person of that scripture. Such things as the exhaustion of faults are the Dharma of the mind, and because nature is false, it cannot be known. Because it is beyond the scope of the senses, there is no sign of self-nature. From self-arising, etc., it shows that there is no sign of fruit. Sending thoughts in advance means that people who are the expressions of body and speech want to enter. Those are those who are detached from desire and those who have desire. Thoughts are diverse, and because of need, those who are detached from desire also move like those who have desire, and those who have desire also move like the other. In this way, the validity of the scripture shown by faith is eliminated. Again, in order to refute the view that the Veda, which is not made by man, is a valid means of knowledge, it is said, "If speech depends on man," and so on. A person being struck by scripture indicates a sign. It also depends on it, but not just on sound. If someone thinks that the Veda is constant, then it should always be observed, or not...
