It has been widely narrated. Thus, after enumerating examples that are widely known in the world, in order to clarify the fame in the treatises, it is why "like this impure" and so on are said. This is actually the self-nature of all dharmas, even those obscured minds, for all knowledge mixed with appearance, the reality of things appearing clearly does not exist. The object to be remembered is clearly apparent, because the rememberer remembers it. However, for the knowledge that remembers it, things are not clear, so the things themselves are different. Even when obscured, or when experiencing in an unobscured state, when remembering, even when obscured, conceptual thoughts arise. However, remembrance does not appear as clearly as experience. The reason for saying "because there is no conceptual thought" is because the teacher only elucidated that the realization of direct perception and characteristics are separate. Here, non-deception has been previously elucidated, and the teacher also recognizes non-deception. As it is said: "Confusion and conventional knowledge, inference and those who follow inference, remembrance and prior intention, are called apparent direct perception and blurred." Because it has been elucidated that confusion is similar to direct perception. Because there is no measure in deception, and it has been elucidated that direct perception is a measure, in order to be able to realize, direct perception is shown only through non-conceptual thought. Like this, because not clinging to things, conceptual thought is related to what is called apparent direct perception. Because it deceives, confusion is called apparent direct perception. Through the phrase "also born from the senses," it is elucidated that even without conceptual thought, it is not direct perception. For it, because there is no difference from others. The obscuration born from the senses, whatever obscuration, is no different from the unobscured born from the senses. Because the teacher wants to elucidate the birth from the senses itself, when elucidating confusion, it is separated by remembrance and manifestation, thereby elucidating confusion and blurred appearance as a double moon. This is considered to be the meaning of elucidating confusion, and is accompanied by the special designation of "this is born from the senses." On the other hand of the treatise, the teacher considers the subtle particles of the eyes, etc., to be the confusion appearing as a double moon, and the unconfused.

This is an example of appearing blue. Thus, having explained the detailed classification of direct perception, we begin to explain the detailed classification of the fruit of valid cognition. The examination of the object has also been explained previously through the classification of direct perception and the hidden, and will also be explained in the second chapter. The word "also" gathers together the general classification of valid cognition and the classification of direct perception. The definition of valid cognition is that from which the object to be measured is realized without obstruction, and as soon as the valid cognition exists, the realization of the object to be measured is attained. What is that? It is said "in this," which is indicating valid cognition. This is the realization of blue, which is the definite connection of the object and knowledge separately. If it is said that the senses and the correct sign are also what cause realization, then, having said "for the sake of accomplishing the action," etc., valid cognition itself is the meaning of the agent, then for whose action, from where, and for what? All of these accomplish the action, but are not the agent itself. However, whatever result comes from merely existing, that is the agent itself. In that way, merely existing senses, etc., does not accomplish the realization of the object to be measured, but rather merely existing something similar to the object. If it is said that even without similarity, the cognition of the object itself is valid cognition, then it is said, "merely experiencing," because the object is similar to any object with the nature of object and subject without any connection. Since it is not permissible to establish the nature of action and agent, whatever is similar to the object is this knowledge of this object, and through similarity, the action and agent that are definitely separate from the object and subject are distinguished, and that also becomes the nature of realizing the object. And the word "etc." includes observing the object and the knowledge that distinguishes, etc. Even if these exist, but the action that is different from knowledge, if the action of those objects is not other than the nature of knowledge, it is not possible to definitely say that this difference in the action of the nature of realizing the object is the realization of blue. Valid cognition exists through the meaning of the agent, and the agent is also the true nature of the agent through the cause of the action.
