If one doubts that following is not the main thing for the sake of establishing (the reason), therefore there is no realization. Then, another example can be given: So, here, because of pervasiveness in all similar instances, following is powerful; because opposition is seen in some of the dissimilar instances, opposition is weak. For things that have just arisen, what is to be established is impermanence, impermanence exists in all similar instances, while dissimilar instances oppose a part, such as space and so on. If you think like this: here also there will be no realization, because there is no opposition to all dissimilar instances. If you say, if the reason is opposed to all dissimilar instances, then, whatever is made is impermanent, and not permanent, like this, expressing the meaning of opposition in a short sentence, when establishing what is to be established, it is certain to exist on the subject, this will be considered as the reason. If this is the case, then it will be considered that understanding is done through distinguishing dissimilar instances. If it is not like that, that is to say, if there is no distinction of dissimilar instances, then it is impossible to show opposition to all dissimilar instances. Like this, if you want to understand that it is necessary to oppose all dissimilar instances when establishing what is to be established, then, for the subject, such as sound and earth, if you do not distinguish between permanent and fireless, it will not be certain to oppose all dissimilar instances. If you doubt that sound and earth themselves are dissimilar instances, and doubt the entity of dissimilar instances, then applying the reason to such a subject is suspected to be applying to dissimilar instances. Therefore, if the realized person distinguishes the dissimilar instances in what is seen, thereby understanding what is to be established, then the reason will be able to show opposition to all dissimilar instances. If, like distinguishing the permanent, after distinguishing the permanent, the nature of impermanence is realized, then similarly, if impermanence is realized, wouldn't permanence naturally not be realized?

What is it then? It is true, but in any case, when understanding is achieved by establishing impermanence, the distinction of the contradictory side, which is to be understood by force, is not understood. If this is not understood, then because of doubting that the reason will revert to the contradictory side, how can certainty about impermanence, etc., be closely gathered for subjects such as sound and location? Therefore, if the reason is certain to be absent from the contradictory side, then it is possible to closely gather certainty about impermanence. By making the distinction of the contradictory side on the subject to be proven, wherever this exists, there is not even a trace of the contradictory side, so it will be understood that there is no contradictory side. Therefore, the contradictory side should be distinguished by the force of establishment. It will not become an understanding of establishment, because the reason is uncertain. If the distinction is understood, then because it is certain to revert from all contradictory sides, the reason itself is without fault. Therefore, merely because of the existence of concomitance, what is to be established is not understood, because the non-effort-born arising from impermanence is not understood. Nor is it equal, because impermanence is not understood from non-tangibility. Nor is it primary, because effort-born arising is not understood from impermanence. Similarly, because it is not special, even if the concomitance is not primary, if there is reverse pervasion, there is understanding. For example, the so-called example is to indicate an example. Here, although effort-born arising exists in one similar instance, because the opposite of this pervades the contradictory side, it is seen as being understandable. Because the concomitance is not primary, and the reason that the opposite pervades the contradictory side is understandable, therefore, knowing it as such is the reason. How is it known? Whatever is effort-born arising is impermanent, thus reverting from all contradictory sides, it is certain in one similar instance. Such is the reason.
