It is a dharma nature because it is also the basis of other dharmas. When it is said that it is impossible to relate because it is identical with other dharmas and its own nature, and when it is said to abandon other dharmas, it is not a dharma nature because it is not the basis of other dharmas. However, it is a dharma because it is expressed as the independence of others. What shows this is called the words expressing dharma and dharma nature. There is no difference in the act of expressing dharma and dharma nature, because it expresses the uniqueness that is the opposite of not doing. All of these have already been refuted in the Pramāṇavārttika. Therefore, since things are not established, the dharma of things is also not established. If it is said that the dharma of both things and non-things is stated as a reason, it is also possible. How can one dharma be both a thing and a non-thing? Dharma is its own nature, and what is the own nature of a thing is not that of a non-thing. If there is doubt, in order to show that the nature of non-things, selflessness, is the dharma of both, it is said, whatever does not rely on the nature of things. If you ask what does not rely on things, if it is not non-, then it will become expressing other meanings. By negating non-existence, only contradiction is expressed, and only contradiction is not contradictory to non-existence, so only contradiction is the dharma of both. For example, the absence of a body called non-embodied, only the contradiction, for the consciousness of things and, for the non-thing, the absence of close expression will also change. Other deniers say that the absence of close expression is not the object of denial because it is a non-thing. If something has the ability of location, etc., then it will be the object of something, the absence of close expression is due to the non-thing, being separated from all abilities, how can it be an object? If something becomes the object of some valid cognition (pramāṇa), then it will become the object of some things and non-things, non-things are also not the object of valid cognition, because they are separated from abilities, if you ask like this. If the object of denial itself is prevented, then will the absence of close expression be the object of establishment now? Whatever is said that non-things are the object of establishment, this itself is the object of denial,

Moreover, because it is a sin, one must abandon it. If there is no entity, then it is not an object of establishment. If one says so, then how will it not become an object of refutation? Merely negating the object of establishment is itself the object of refutation. Why? It is said that refutation is by nature the opposite of establishment. Some say that whatever establishment is negated, that itself is the establishment of refutation. Therefore, for something without immediate expression, if a sentient being negates establishment, then refutation will become expressible. How is it not an object of refutation? Even if there is no entity, just as it is an object of valid cognition, it is the same, and it will be shown immediately and later as well. Then, for that, the absence of other is not uncertain, but is the very capacity. Thinking thus, a dharma of this kind is not capable of being expressed, because it is not a good sound of non-sentient beings, etc. Because these complete explanations are also not singing, not eating tree food, not eating salt, not facing the sun, not being a eunuch, it is only in these sounds called "adda" that negation is seen to exist. Therefore, in order to dispel the doubt that, from the meaning of the number of subsequent vowels, the sound of the nature of non-sentient beings, etc., does not enter, "kyema" is said. "Affliction" is called subsequent affection. How does one live by whiteness? It is said, because of the desire to ascertain the meaning of sounds that arise from convention. Sounds that arise from convention are not capable of ascertaining meaning, because they merely follow desire. How is it uncertain? If it is said that the world follows the meaning that has been determined once. It is said that even if one beats one's chest and wails, the difference in the actions of the determiner is that beating one's chest and wailing are considered special, so one enters the conventional truth of sound for the sake of the meaning of worldly convention. Again, why does it enter some worlds even when it is negated? It is said, "as is the convention." Because one understands the meaning of worldly sounds without exceeding convention. The world enters because it seeks the meaning of the fruit, and the need to combine sounds is also to understand the meaning, and since that also exists, the world does not turn back.
