If the intermediate inference is meaningless, then, since only the obvious commonality is established elsewhere, it will not become something to be proven, is that so? The answer is, elsewhere, since the general concept of fire without a definite basis is established, it is something to be proven. For existing things, nothing that is not established is established at all. If that is the case, then there too, fire without a definite basis should be proven, and whatever is to be proven should show pervasiveness. Since it does not correspond to that place, the pervasiveness of fire is not established, then what will happen from that? If someone pervades with fire related to a place, then he will commit the fault of not having subsequentness, like this, the general concept of fire related to a direction does not pervade anyone. Then, who will commit this fault? How not to do it? Is it like the meaning that one wants to prove? The answer is, because the person who proves to other debaters should show that wherever there is smoke, there is fire, and if there is no smoke, it will not arise, the pervasiveness of fire without a definite basis. If pervasiveness is established in this way only through fire without a definite basis, then it will generate the cognition of fire in any subject where it appears. Just like a lamp, smoke is not understood merely through suitability, however, it is not because it does not arise without it. Therefore, understanding hidden meanings is because it is certain that it will not arise without seeing, not because of its own nature. For all understanding of hidden things, the certainty that it will not arise without it is a branch, while certainty related to direction is not certainty, it is said because, for it, showing what is to be proven is not necessary at all, merely showing the association with visibility in that direction is enough to establish what is desired. Even if we assume that what is to be proven is not shown, subsequentness should be shown by it, is that so? Even if it is not shown, it is said so. When it is not shown, when the particularity of that place is understood through implication, the subsequentness of the certainty understood through implication is also meaningless. This is what is said, if subsequentness is not shown like this, like this

If it cannot be established, then what follows from it should be shown. Here, even if there is no such following, there is establishment. Because for existence to be established, such a difference is not established, so through force, the connection with it is severed, and pervasion is not established. When collecting the qualities of the locus, there is also no establishment. If only fire is pervasive, then how can it be said that severing unrelated connections is what is to be established? The answer is: Because the order is like that, therefore this smoke will not arise without fire, and through the power of establishment itself, it can sever what does not possess that locus. Therefore, it is said to be the general to be established. If it is said that there will be no smoke without fire, this is force. That which is established in this way is a limb of a person's entry, but not merely fire in an uncertain place, so it can be considered what is to be established. What follows should be shown only through the particular, not through the general, because it is not collected, and because it is not necessary to show pervasion. What is said is that the pervasion of smoke by this fire is like that, but the proximate cause with the difference of place is not prior. Why? Because stating what is to be established, showing pervasion, is not a limb for this. Even if what follows, showing what is to be established, is prior, then from the statement of the proposition to the statement of establishment, no one can refute it. Therefore, there is no fault of not following. To show this meaning, the teacher also said, so it is said "also." Smoke and other signs should be shown in other general qualities without confusing them with the quality to be established. If, in this way, knowing the non-confused sign, in the case of determining that non-confusion itself is the quality to be established, if it is completely established on that, then one will understand the subject of the quality possessing the pervasive quality. Its meaning is this: If, for the subject in general, pervasion is established only through the general, then through the particular, the particular will be established from the power of seeing the reason. But it is not to show pervasion through the particular, and the subject of the quality to be established
