If the meaning abiding in conceptualization is no different from the consciousness of conceptualization, if it is a real dharma, then how are non-real dharma and both to be understood? If its imputed nature is the meaning of sound, and it is also non-existent, being a non-real dharma, then there is no other aspect at all. If the very nature of imputation is shown as real by consciousness, therefore it is a real dharma, even so, it will not become a non-existent dharma and both, if there is doubt about this, then it is said, "Conceptualization is." Existing refers to the meaning of form and sound, etc. Non-existent refers to space, etc. The negation of sentient beings, etc., is because real and non-real are the dharma of both consciousness and space, etc. The consciousness that experiences it, and the habit that is produced by conceptual consciousness, which is able to produce consciousness of the same kind, the conceptualization that arises from that. Conceptualization here refers to the aspect of abiding in conceptualization. The so-called "because" means therefore. Attachment to the aspect that appears in the consciousness of both existence and non-existence. Due to the power of whose habit, this consciousness that abides in conceptualization also clings to the conceptualization of its meaning. The meaning of abiding in conceptualization is also said to be three aspects due to clinging to the nature of existence, non-existence, and both. The meaning of sound is as it is clung to, but it is not merely as it is in itself. This is also attachment to real, non-real, and both, therefore it is three aspects. Therefore, following the habit and clinging to the three aspects, therefore abiding in the three aspects. Therefore, because it exists in the nature of consciousness, it is not a real dharma, and because it is non-existent by imputation, it is also not a non-real dharma. So what is it? Because it clings to the three aspects, it is three dharmas. Because the meaning of sound is like that, therefore, what is taken as real from outside the nature of the meaning of sound, those who have not abandoned the nature of dharma, are the self, etc.

It is considered as existence and non-existence. If one considers external entities like the chief (Ishvara) as existing or not existing, how can one base oneself on the dharma of the meaning of sound? Explanation: Does the meaning that appears in the mind from the sound of the chief, etc., have the reason of the external chief? Or does one think it is not? This is what is being said: The practice of considering the existence or non-existence of unseen things is precisely this: namely, to discriminate whether the meaning of the sound is its cause or not its cause, because other ways are not reasonable. Since it is not the proximate cause of that thing, it is not appropriate to abandon it in the practice of dharma. That which is practiced as dharma should not be abandoned, because if it is abandoned, there is no basis for the dharma to be practiced, just like sound in proving impermanence. Because it is one's own knowledge, it is also not appropriate to abandon it. What is said as each individual's own knowledge is because it is to be known by oneself. Therefore, by not abandoning the meaning of sound, thinking engages with the existence or non-existence of hidden things. Since one is attached to fire, is not the object of apprehension of conceptual thought itself one's own nature? Therefore, is the object of sound one's own nature? Explanation: The meaning of sound itself is not one's own nature. The nature of knowledge is one's own nature. It is not attached to the nature of knowledge, but if so, then one is attached to fire, and the essence of what is attached is also the meaning of sound. Why is the nature of what is attached the object of expression, but not one's own nature? Why? Because what is not obtained is the future, and what has ceased is the past. For those past and future things, the meaning of conceptual thought does not change. Whatever follows existence and non-existence as its own characteristic, the aspect of knowledge that is determined as that itself is said to be its own characteristic. But this is not not being confused about its own characteristic, so it is not its own characteristic. Furthermore, for objects such as a pot, the inverted form has parts, and atoms, and one.
