Even if it exists, if what is promised by someone changes to another state, then the Buddha's prophecy is not fictitious. If the promised contradiction does not exist, then how can it be proven that the universal multiplicity that contradicts speech is false? Answer: When the opponent understands the meaning of "existing in multiplicity," the attribute of universality that he understands, through the power of things themselves, without relying on words, can quickly understand the so-called "multiplicity," because there is no other way to understand it except through hearing. For example, if the light of a lamp is promised, then at the moment of that promise, because it is the entity of cause and effect, the lamp, which is also the cause of the nature of flame, will also be promised. Therefore, it is understood through the meaning of a prophecy that possesses universality, and not refuted by other promises. Why is it understanding itself? Because through the meaning that it understands, other meanings can also be understood, so it is said. Because that itself is the moment of promise, so at the moment of promise, through the inevitable power of reasoning, if one thing is promised, then all the meanings that are closely related to it should be promised, not just a part of it, or abandoning one is equal to abandoning all. This is what is to be expressed: at the time of promise, it should be promised with understanding, after a comprehensive examination through reasoning, and not just through words. What is contained by the attribute of being universally present cannot be without the attribute of being universally present. Therefore, if this place is understood through reasoning, then other attributes without error can also be understood. Therefore, the understanding that is shown itself is the cause of triggering a second similar understanding, and not understanding a higher meaning. Therefore, the transformation from the promised thing to another state is not unestablished, because universality itself has been promised. The promise will also not cause harm, because no other attributes have been promised yet. Therefore, since no other things have been promised, it is not unestablished, etc. Furthermore, even if the promised thing changes to another state, it will not become unestablished, etc. Why?

Therefore, it is because the two dharmas are said to be related. If the very nature of having many is such, then the many themselves will also change, or if they are not many, then neither will change. In this way, the nature of dharma is shown to be non-erroneous. The meaning is this: To establish with what is not established, or with what is harmed by commitment, or the dharma to be established, none is stated with certainty, but both dharmas are shown as doubt. If that is so, it is because there is no doubt. What was said before, that the reason for the hypothetical syllogism needs to be established, is also unreasonable. If it has certainty, it needs to be considered established. The hypothetical syllogism is not considered certain, but it is only showing the relationship. That is also effective in causing doubt. However, when will the reason for the hypothetical syllogism become a fault when it is not established? The answer is: The so-called "certainty" refers to determining things with one side, and if the things that can be established or are to be established are completely held there, it will become a fault such as the reason not being established. Then how can one definitely hold a contradiction from the hypothetical syllogism? The answer is: If there is a reason, that is, if it is established, that is, even if it is completely held with it, it will not become a fault. The absence of many itself is also established for the non-existence of things such as universals. If the contradictory reason is established, it is not only without fault, but it is also the same for the hypothetical syllogism. For example, it is like the hypothetical syllogism of sound being impermanent established by the existence promised by those who speak of permanence. Because the commitment resides elsewhere, it will not become a fault to definitely and completely hold only the contradiction and the hypothetical syllogism. How can it establish something that contradicts a commitment such as one self-nature? The answer is: What is accepted by reason is inevitable, and if it is not held, there is nothing else that can be held. The scriptures are also in accordance with reason, so what is to be held, similarly, others are also to be held. If whatever does not contradict the commitment is what is to be held by reason, and what contradicts the commitment harms reason, then, by commitment...
