If it is conceded that a single act-dharma exists in many things, then this is to show that other multiple pervaders are conceded. If that pervader is not accepted, then both the pervaded and the pervader's dharma will disappear, which has the meaning of reversal. Therefore, this is not a reason that leads to an inference. If it were not so, because it exists in many things, it is not a single entity, such a reversal of nature would become an establisher, not a reverser. Therefore, this text, which begins with 'if a single dharma is conceded,' would become meaningless. Here, the meaning of inference is establishment, and reversal is expressed as return. Those who think that emptiness of other nature represents oneness and that aiming at contradiction with the pervader is the object, even according to their view, the meaning of this text is very inconsistent. Even according to their view, if it exists in many things, then it is not oneness, such a contradiction with oneness pervaded by many things, the object existing in many things, is it a reversal from inference? Now, by what means can this text become well-consistent? It is explained that there is no negation for establishing both dharmas of the pervaded. Therefore, not aiming at the pervader, reversing from inference, this is precisely what appears in the text. Furthermore, how can the dharmas of establishment and negation not be confused? It is explained that distinction is existing in different places, meaning that the pervaded cannot tolerate existing independently from a single pervader. Why is that so? It is explained that because that pervaded is related to other dharmas of the pervader. 'Actually' means by nature, through its essence and the characteristics arising from it. If something is related to something by nature, how can it exist independently? Saying that, because the relation is not established, the inference, that is, the reversal of confusion, will also not be established. Now, it means if this dharma is established in inference. Here, if it is conceded that the universal exists in many things, then establishing in inference the meaning of conceding many things, then many things cannot exist in one thing, what is

If that were to be established, others would doubt how this would happen. Explaining, it is said: Not only is it impossible for one thing to have multiple aspects, but also, whatever is pervaded by multiple aspects that are impossible for one thing to have, the dharma that exists in different things such as places, is also impossible for the single thing such as the general. Therefore, if it is admitted that the pervading thing exists in the place, then it will inevitably become multiple aspects, so it cannot be refuted. If it is thought that showing the two dharmas to be contradictory is to explain the meaning, then there will also be a fault, because the reason is not established, and for the multiple aspects that are promised, is it not harmed by the admitted uniqueness? The reason for mentioning "etc." is because many things are seen to be known in one way. Uniqueness is inferred. Therefore, the inference will be harmed, and the coarse thing with limbs is established by direct perception. Therefore, the harm of direct perception should be accepted. Why? Because the opponent himself is in the state of admitting other things, that is, in the state of admitting contradictions. Buddhists abide in saying that there is no general, by stating the establishment of inference, at that time, because the basis is not established, the reason "exists in multiple things" will not be established. If the reason for the previous inference is established, then afterwards it can be refuted from the inference, but if it is not established, then it cannot. Similarly, if one holds to existing in multiple things, then one will rely on saying the general. For this, because the general is one, therefore, for the promise of existing in multiple things, therefore, it is multiple aspects, it will be harmed by the admitted uniqueness. Therefore, being in the state of admitting other things like that, for those who say there is no general, the reason is not established, and for those who say uniqueness, the harm is the harm of admission. From then on, because both ways of being in the state of admitting other things are abandoned, it is said that it is not, because when examining the meaning of the scriptures, no scripture is admitted. This method of correct understanding is to examine the scriptures of the Vaisheshikas and abandon them, and then examine them again to establish them, which is not possible, because there is no need. For other scriptures that have not been definitely examined, the meaning of complete purity.
