If the definition is determined after inference, then the nature of pervasion in accordance with the similar side also possesses the definition of a reason, will it necessarily be determined from that (inference) as well? Although what is said is a statement, in inference for the sake of others, the statement of reason is also taken as the standard, this is so that children can particularly understand. The meaning of this is as follows: The matter that has already been said is stated again, not for the sake of the wise to understand, but because those who are not clever, although they understand the meaning, do not know how to state it as it is, so it is necessary to understand; similarly, although the definition is known, in order to understand what the dharma of that side of the example is, and to understand that it is the only ultimate definition, therefore the difference is stated, not to state other definitions. Therefore, here, only this point of difference is what the teacher Dharmakirti or I say, the definition is that which has already been said, that which can infer its own meaning. If it is said that stating both differences is for the sake of particular understanding, then the nature of pervasion in accordance with the similar side should be exemplified, but that which exists only on one side is not, therefore, it will be impossible to understand its expressed meaning, is that so? The answer is: Through this example, it should also be understood that the example of the nature that exists only on one side is also stated. Precisely for this reason, it is said that the two examples that exist only on one side are commonly used, because they have just arisen. Furthermore, how can this sound express nature or result? The answer is: For the manifestation and arising that have just arisen, because they have just arisen, this sound can express, that is, whatever is produced by effort and uninterrupted effort, or whatever has manifested. If this is the case, because it arises through effort and without interruption, it is newly produced, and the arising is also through its own essence or manifestation itself, because non-manifestation is equivalent to non-arising. Manifestation is also known through meaning, therefore it is newly produced knowledge or arising. Knowledge is the result, and arising is the self-
