Therefore, when any fruit gathers, what awakens the power of that created fruit is the cause of mutual gathering. When any fruit gathers, even after a short time, if it is not brought about by causes that examine the fruit's accordance and opposition, then only other causes can awaken it. Just as one examines the accordance and opposition of cause and effect, the cause that awakens the power of the fruit can only be understood through accordance and opposition. No other cause is seen, therefore it is inferred that the producer itself can mutually awaken the power of the fruit. Just as one judges from accordance and opposition what state is the cause of the fruit's arising, similarly, the state in which two causes awaken is the state that can mutually cause awakening. Therefore, things that are in a distant place cannot mutually cause the awakening of power, because at this time the cause itself is seen to be awakened, and what is not awakened is also because the fruit is not seen. Therefore, it refutes what some say, that things that are in a distant place can also mutually benefit and become benefactors. If the difference of a moment cannot be transformed into a difference, why can't seeds, etc., produce sprouts merely by being close? To this, it is refuted by saying that this is a slight difference caused by the condition of acting together, which is due to conditions. Just as one cannot immediately cause a difference in other continuums, other continuums are born from one's own cause, so it gradually causes differences. Something that has been bitten by a mouse is a thing with power, but it does not rely on complete transformation, but establishes differences on other continuums. One's own continuum, even if the moment is different, is never the cause of awakening because there is no different fruit. In this regard, entering from light into darkness, in order to establish the difference between each other, therefore there is a mutual dependence here.

Therefore, it is said that one should not expect things that should not be benefited, because there is no expectation in all cases, so there is no contradiction. If it is not so, if the difference cannot be generated mutually, then the so-called "nature of ability", that is, the ability related to the cause of mutual approach, in the case of approach, since there is no difference in cause, there is no difference in ability, so it either always generates or does not generate. If they benefit each other, then benefit will be applied in all cases. So, because of applying benefit, will knowledge arise in all cases? The answer is: if the obstacles to seeing, such as objects, senses, and appearances, exist in the middle, and are blocked by other things, then they are mutually beneficial. Why? The answer is: in any object where there is no obstruction between the senses, appearances, and objects, that is an unobstructed object, and its suitability is the co-agent of cleanliness. Because these co-agents rely on the object being applied when they benefit each other, therefore, things that are obstructed do not benefit each other. Just as a collection relying on the end of time, from which results are seen to arise from unobstructed objects, the causes of co-action that make the collection unobstructed are the causes of generating ability, similarly, since results are seen to arise only from a collection of unobstructed objects, therefore, the causes of mutual approach are also the causes of generating the ability to make the collection unobstructed, and not others. If so, then no obstruction is the entity of the cause. The cause spoken of by the collection of unobstructed objects is the cause of its ability, because they themselves are the ability. If there is obstruction, then because no result is produced, there is no cause, so there is no cause of ability. Just as in other times without obstruction, other moments of ability arise from the cause of approach or co-action, so in obstructed times, ability does not arise from these, and because it does not arise, knowledge does not arise, but not because walls and the like make a difference to the object. If so, then it is established from the beginning.
