Although not determined in its essence, saying that it exists in the prior and subsequent stages harms the various differential establishments of the meanings of words. If a certain nature is not determined in a certain other nature, because that nature does not exist in that, then the natures are different. But you say that everything is the essence of self, therefore, whatever is not determined in whatever, that also exists in that. Therefore, this does not harm the establishment of the meaning of words. If you think that we do not want the establishment of difference at all, then, I say, if that is the case, it will harm the differential establishment of courage, dust, darkness, and consciousness, because they cannot be established as mutually different natures. Why not? Because I have already said that other than non-determination, no other basis for the differential establishment of courage, dust, darkness, and consciousness can be found. The Samkhyas pursue water but chase after flames, this is not a worldly saying. Therefore, the fruit of determined nature, such as yogurt, cannot but be determined in causes such as milk, and milk does not exist in yogurt, etc., this statement of non-existence is reasonable, because it is understood through valid cognition. If something is not determined in the essence of something, that is not its nature, for example, happiness is not determined in the essence of suffering, therefore it is not its nature. Similarly, milk is not determined in the nature of yogurt, therefore it is not its nature. Such observable existence itself is pervaded by determination, because the reason for determination is limited to this. Because there is no determination, the object to be distinguished is also reversed. Determining the nature of one thing is not determining its nature. Therefore, for such undetermined things that need to be determined, it should be applied to all such things. Determination exists. What is that? It is inference. Mere perception alone is not determination. What is that? Because it cannot arise from inability. Because it arises from something, there is a saying that there is a result.
