No. Therefore, to definitively state cessation, etc., (these arguments) hold. Because inference definitively states, by showing that the object of inference is pleasing and without confusion, this shows that even from direct perception, in order to definitively state, the object of inference is without contradiction and without confusion. This shows that from direct perception, direct perception and inference are the cause of certainty, therefore it is said that it can show that the object of inference is without contradiction and without confusion. If it is said, how can one definitively state from direct perception, thereby stating that the object of inference is without contradiction and without confusion? Is direct perception itself not merely stating without an opponent? Answer: It is said, "Both also." Because direct perception and inference are not different as valid cognitions. If there is no difference as valid cognitions, then if inference has an opponent, direct perception will also have one, what is said is that the characteristic of a valid cognition is that it cannot arise without meaning, because the non-deceptiveness of valid cognitions comes from that (meaning). Because one of the inferences corresponding to that (meaning) has an opponent, direct perception will also be like that, that is, it will have an opponent. Therefore, it will not become a determiner. If one thinks that although the two have no difference in characteristics as valid cognitions, there is a difference that it becomes a determiner because it has no opponent, answer: It is said, "Which one." Any difference that is different from the characteristic of a valid cognition is not absolutely established as a establisher called "certainty." Why? Answer: It is said, "Because." Because the difference that uniquely establishes certainty comes from outside of inference, because it is empty of the difference of the reason for certainty, it will become non-valid cognition. Because the difference that uniquely establishes certainty has no other difference from the characteristic of a valid cognition, therefore if the object of inference may have an opponent, it is difficult for direct perception to avoid it. Then, because direct perception is the cause of certainty, one can also know that the object of inference is without contradiction and without confusion. It is one with the same number of those who want to state.

It is uniquely non-dual. Therefore, if someone says that the argument is unopposed, it is not merely an argument that does not show an opponent's argument. Therefore, if in some cases there is non-contradiction, then because there is no difference, doubt will arise in all inferences. If this is the case, because there is no difference from valid cognition, doubt will also arise in direct perception, and there will be no fault. The singularity of what is to be expressed is the sign of inference; merely possessing the three aspects is non-contradictory. Therefore, because there is a difference, one does not doubt the opposite in all cases. If this is the case, then is the singularity of what is to be expressed unopposed? Or is it that the opponent is not seen? In either case, that characteristic must be determined. Among these, the first is impossible to determine, as it is said, linking the crow's question to "Does such a thing exist in a determined object?" the answer is "It does not exist." If there is no certainty, what is it like? It is like saying, "This inference has no opponent." Why is there no certainty in this? Because for the undifferentiated characteristic called "possessing the three aspects" in the sign, one cannot determine the seen opponent, which is the other characteristic that does not possess the three aspects. The second chapter ends here. Therefore, being unopposed itself is uncertain. Or, if the singularity of what is to be expressed itself is not seeing the opponent, then even if that characteristic can be established, it is unreasonable, which is called "human courage." As long as a person does not see an opponent, it is valid cognition; if one sees an opponent, it is not valid cognition, one cannot define it this way. If this is the case, then defining valid cognition through human courage, defining valid cognition through human courage is also unreasonable. What is it then? It is through the existence of things. Whatever is the nature of things, that is the definition of valid cognition, not the nature that appears to courage. The unopposed valid cognition that exists in things is also like that, that is, possessing the three aspects.
