Was it not because I had already avoided expressing the unestablished reason with the sounds I desired? If it is said that since the opponent does not consider himself to be the very thing to be proven, there is no need to grasp the unestablished reason, then, because it will be stated and answered later, "here" and so on are mentioned. If it is said that even so, in this definition of the subject, expressing with the sounds that one desires is what must be grasped, then even if there is only the word "must," it still has the name of an agent, because whatever word has the end of indicating factors such as action is related to the word "desire," therefore, for the thing that is going to be shown, it will also become a fault of the subject, considering this, the teacher explained that it must be grasped. Like this, for the thing that should be shown, whether it has already happened, will happen, or is present, it is said to be the thing that should be shown. The meaning of the word "should be shown" is also the main thing, and the meaning of the words "self" and "desire" are its difference, therefore, the meaning of the words "self" and "desire" will also become an object with the meaning of the future tense. Therefore, the meaning of the language is that expressing what one desires, which is to be shown as one's own essence, is the meaning of the subject. Apart from that, expressing the unestablished reason and the unestablished example will also become a commitment. Those unestablished reasons and examples, because the opponent wants to show them as the very thing to be proven, will also become a fault of the subject when stating them as things that can be established. If it is said that from the perspective of consciousness, since the factor "ཀ" expresses the present, is it not expressing desire? For the unestablished reason or example, the opponent does not now want them to be the very thing to be proven, because they are expressed as things that can be established. Then, how can the thing that is going to be shown become a fault of the subject? The answer is: even if it is not now, in this definition of the subject, the root of the word "desire" is not the factor "ཨི་ཤུ་ལ་ནིཥྛ" (i-shu-la-nish-tha), this is not a reason to prevent the thing that is going to be shown from becoming the subject. Like this, whatever meaning is contained by the word "should be shown" is the thing that should be shown.

What is desired is the thesis, which is a distinction in the meaning of the word "desire." What is to be shown is also what is to be shown. Therefore, that would also become the thesis, therefore niṣṭha is not a limb. If the word "only" exists, then it becomes like this: the one who desires to show only his own nature, that is it. Unestablished reasons and examples, etc., do not want to show only what is to be established, because at that time what is desired to be shown is the reason itself. If it is said, wouldn't the reason, etc., become wanting to show only what is to be established? Indeed. However, the object from which it will be shown, if grasped definitively, it is impossible to show simultaneously what is already established and what is to be established. Therefore, grasping definitively is to eliminate wanting to gradually also establish and what is to be established, this is reasonable. Some say that when wanting, it will become what is to be shown, so that it can be understood. According to those people's view, even if grasped definitively, when wanting only one's own nature, that which will be shown is the thesis, and that word is the vow, so that it can be understood. When stating this unestablished, in order to prevent immediate establishment, and wanting to become what is to be established, it is necessary to grasp definitively, therefore this is to be abandoned. Then, in the aspect of the gate of reasoning, it is also necessary to use the word "only," because here, wanting only what is to be established is the thesis, because here there is also the word "to be established" with a niṣṭha ending related to the agent. The answer is: In the word "wanting," niṣṭha itself is the limb. Because this is related to the word with a niṣṭha ending, the meaning of the word "wanting" will become the object of generating doubt, and for the meaning of generating doubt, there is no other special word. The word "only to be established" is itself a special word. Therefore.
