Therefore, it must be acknowledged without a doubt that inference does not rely on scripture. If it were not so, if one were to closely demonstrate that the example is able to prove all the meanings seen in the scriptures, then it would become a supramundane system. Because there are only a few things in the world that can be proven. If that were the case, then nothing could be proven, because there is no phenomenon that can be proven in reverse merely through what is seen in the scriptures. Since whatever contradicts what is seen in the scriptures is pervasive, no reason could exist. Furthermore, if the dharma that is in accordance with scripture and unrelated to the dharma to be proven is not established, then how could the dharma to be proven be established? If the relation is not established, then it will become "unestablished." If the desired dharma is established, even if it harms scripture, how could it be a flawed reason? Why? Because it is used to prove the very same dharma. If it is established, even if others are not, it is simply not flawed. Therefore, if inference always relies on scripture, then shepherds and others will make mistakes, and the field of "example" and so on will also be unable to do so, that is what is said. Someone might think that not all the contents of the scriptures need to be shown in the example, however, on the subject of the dharma to be proven, those dharmas seen in the scriptures, their pervasiveness of the reason, needs to be shown on the subject of the example. Not all things seen in the scriptures, therefore, some things will be proven, so it is not a supramundane system either. If one understands scripture, one will not realize anything from a reason that harms scripture, because whatever harms the scripture that has become the eye, when it becomes the object of abandonment of the example, how could it become a branch of realization? If those who do not understand scripture, why can't they realize fire and so on from smoke and so on? If the world can also understand the reason pervaded by the dharma of the subject of the dharma to be proven, otherwise it cannot.

If that is the case, then the scriptural authority arising from scriptural authority should also be beautiful in the same way. But that is not the case. For example, as a phenomenon that is a subject, the dharma is without remainder. The reason that exists in the example is not pointed out, it is only like that. Because they do not fully point out the pervasiveness of the reason, for those who do not understand scriptural authority, the mind that arises from language and words, and inferring fire and other things from smoke and other things. Therefore, in the example, the reason that shows pervasiveness only through the dharma to be proven is also understandable for those who understand scriptural authority. For others, there is no difference. The reason that can be understood does not become another form for those who understand scriptural authority, nor does it become another form for those who do not understand scriptural authority. However, understanding through its own nature and the things that arise from it is no different for both. Therefore, there is no difference. For example, because the reason with a nature relationship has the characteristic of non-arising without it and does not confuse. Therefore, the pervading entity and the things that act as causes, and the meaning to be proven, that is, the pervading thing, are called nature and fruit, which although it harms the statements of some. However, it will not change from its own nature and the nature of its fruit. If it changes its own nature by harming the scriptural authority, then it is not a reason for those who understand scriptural authority or others. If someone thinks like this: even if it does not change its own nature, but if it harms the scriptural authority, then the reason cannot make those who understand scriptural authority understand. In order to eliminate this doubt, it is said: that reason is the realization that there is no arising without it and that it is not confused. What is it the same as? It is the same as desire, that is, the desire to desire and understand. If it is understood through reason, then how can the dharma to be proven be understood? Only because of the possibility, like a lamp, the reason is not to make the thing to be inferred understood, but because the relationship between the thing to be inferred and the non-arising without it is determined. Apart from determining the non-arising without it, there is no other function of making fire understood. The reason why smoke can be established as non-arising without fire through the relationship of nature is only because it is easy to establish that fire is understood, just like the scriptural
