It is said, "By means of method." What is meant by "method"? It is because the method of accepting the treatise is only this: namely, whatever is said therein is fully understood. Therefore, at that time, acceptance, which is like non-existence even when it exists, is not a branch of abandonment, because there is no abandonment since there is no existence. When a particular person, from his own scriptural authority, begins to analyze the meaning to be inferred by inference, together with other inferences, even though acceptance has already been made, if some meanings stated from the established tenets of others become clear, then by saying, "This is not scripture," doubt arises. Although there is acceptance at the time of inference, it is as if acceptance has been abandoned because the occasion for the cause of acceptance has been obtained. Therefore, the acceptance that exists at that time is not an object of abandonment, because it is seen that the previous non-existence must be removed. If there is no established tenet at the time of analysis, then when will the treatise cause harm? It is said, "It is so," even if, without relying on the treatise, the two objects are completely purified and determined by direct perception and inference. The nature of the object to be expressed by the treatise is also of three kinds: phenomena that are directly perceived, such as form, phenomena to be inferred, such as moments, and phenomena that are beyond the senses, such as the heavens. Among these, if the object of direct perception and the object to be inferred are determined, then that is the time when one wants to fully grasp the treatise. Fully grasping is the time. What is meant by "wanting" is to show that even if the two bodies are completely pure, it is not necessary to accept without fail because the mind is not needed for objects beyond the senses. If one cannot enter, one will remain in suffering. If he ascertains the two objects, then the treatise should be accepted. Therefore, at the time when the two objects are completely purified and perfected, the treatise will cause harm, but not before. If the two objects are completely purified, even so, how is the treatise accepted? How does it cause harm? It is said, "By its established meaning."

Therefore, regarding the established meaning of the treatise, whatever thinks that it contradicts the established meaning from the treatise is not permissible. Because there is no basis, it is unreasonable to think about the meaning beyond the senses. When the third place is transformed into being beyond the senses, it is reasonable to accept the treatise, and one must not be disturbed by evil spirits. If one does not accept the treatise, there is no basis for analysis. Even if one accepts the treatise, one does not accept the meaning that contradicts it. If one accepts it, the treatise will cause harm. For example, if one accepts the widely known dharma from the treatise and then speaks of giving extreme non-pleasure that contradicts it, it is like the treatise causing harm. When fully accepting the treatise, just as momentariness and selflessness are related, what is the dharma to be established, and what is the dharma that does not arise without it, that is, the related dharma, whatever harm is caused to the related dharma, that itself should be avoided, because causing harm to it actually also causes harm to the dharma to be established, thus causing contradiction. It is not like that for other dharmas, because it would lead to infinite faults. Even if it is based on scripture, one cannot universally indicate any signs in the examples for everything seen in the treatise. Therefore, when engaging in subsequent inference, even if there is acceptance of the treatise, it is as if there is none, so it is not a limb to be completely abandoned, nor is it a harm, this is the reality. If one thinks, how is it not a harm? Even if the dharma is believed to be true by the eyes, if it is harmed by scripture, then it is not a true reason, therefore one must definitely think and approach a reason that does not contradict the treatise, why is that? The answer is: the rules, that is, who makes this arrangement? What is it like? That is to say, all direct perception and inference, as well as analysis beyond the senses, must rely on the treatise. No one can do such a thing, if that is the case, then now people without sects, such as shepherds, would think that smoke does not hold fire. In reality, it does hold it, therefore sects are not helpful for subsequent inference.
