If there is no entity, then the term for applying sound will become non-existent. The term of sound depends on the entity of dharma and the possessor of dharma. If the entity of dharma and the possessor of dharma are not the suchness of all things, how can it become non-entity? If existing things possess suchness, then non-existing things will not become the entity of dharma and the possessor of dharma. Ultimately, just as non-existence, existence also does not have any entity of dharma and the possessor of dharma. Then what are the entities of dharma and the possessor of dharma like? Although non-existent, dharma and the possessor of dharma, and their relationship, are merely fabrications of the mind of conceptualizers. If dharma and the possessor of dharma exist ultimately, then at that time, is it the same or different? It is not the same, because all the sounds that express dharma will become synonyms. If it is different, then it is visible. If dharma and the possessor of dharma are not two, then like the sound of Ishvara etc., it will not become synonymous, and it also exists. Therefore, ultimately, since it cannot be the same or different, and since there is no other aspect to things, the distinction between dharma and the possessor of dharma is not an entity, etc., has already been explained in the Pramāṇavārttika, and should be understood from it. When the relationship of any dharma and the possessor of dharma is made by the mind, it is the same for non-existence as for existence, so who can prevent it? Just as existence, non-existence will also become the entity of dharma and the possessor of dharma, however, how can the measurable be understood? If valid cognition is the result of the measurable, then is non-entity the cause of any valid cognition? If valid cognition is used to accomplish the purpose, then non-entity has no power. Therefore, since the knowledge of its object is not valid cognition, it is also not measurable, if you say so. Answer: Existing, non-existing, both, and neither existing nor non-existing abide in aspects, which are well known. Whose? It is that which is and that which is not, that is, that and that which is not, existing and non-existing. Their designation is terminology. Those who apply the terminology of existence on that, the abiding in the aspects of those people, since it causes understanding to be uncertain, it will not be grasped as a single certainty, non-entity measures.
