Moreover, since the doctrine itself establishes what is to be established, the teacher is also meaningless. Thus it has been said. If impermanence is only related to sound, then it is unreasonable for some to argue, because sound is established as permanent, so that is said to be established in the nature of impermanence. If one thinks like this: the impermanence of sound is not seen to follow, and because it is not seen to follow, impermanence is not established. Therefore, thinking that because there is argument, one states the establisher. If it is so, relying on following, if sound is permanent, if it is dependent, then is that a dharma, does a dharma follow another dharma? This is the meaning of impossible. Therefore, if sound is what makes one understand, then because one wants to make one understand only from one's own nature, it will become without argument. If one thinks like this: even though you are also a dharma, what is the point of saying that it is not established as a part of self-realization? Because lamps and the like are also seen to illuminate themselves. Answer: Lamps and the like are suitable for their own nature, and when they generate self-knowledge, they are clear in the realm of knowledge, so it is said that they illuminate themselves. Sign and sign-possessor are not like that, because they are one, they cannot know that they illuminate themselves. The entities of sign and sign-possessor have different reasons. How are they different? If the sign itself becomes the object of perfect knowledge, then the sign-possessor is not known. What can make the entities of sign and sign-possessor without difference? When something is known, what becomes unknown, that sign is that, for example, when smoke is known, it is the smoke of the fire that is not known. When something is known, what becomes known, that sign is not that, for example, when the place devoid of a pot is known, because non-existence is known, the place devoid of a pot is not the knowledge of non-existence. Therefore, whatever is uncertain, those that are uncertain depend on the knowledge of the mutually following differences of the certain and the uncertain, and what becomes certain is the sign of one, but it is not like a lamp illuminating itself.

If it is said that the property-possessor also becomes a sign by its very difference, the answer is: If it is admitted that the self-nature of the property-possessor is to establish, then this will turn into the fallacy of self-manifestation, because there is no subsequent agreement with this. If it is certain by its own nature, then it will become clear that impermanence itself, which has become the property-possessor itself, is clear, like a lamp. If that is so, then because sound is always established by its own nature, impermanence itself is also established, so there will be no dispute. Thinking this, if it is said that because the reason and the established are different, the reason is not established on the property-possessor itself to be established, then for all things, the difference between the property and the property-possessor, or the property to be established and the property to be established, is not established, so the fault of one aspect of the meaning of the commitment becoming the reason is the same for all reasons of nature. The very fact of being made is not different from sound, so the fact of being made will also become one aspect of the meaning of the commitment, will it? Whatever is to be said about this dispute has already been said as the very thought of the reason of nature. Because the nature of the object of certainty depends on the negation of things that are different from it and that, because the terms are different, what is to be established and what is to be established are different. The reason for negating from one is the nature of the unestablished to be established, and the reason for reversing from the other is that the nature of the established to be established is established, it is said. If, in reality, the property and the property-possessor are not different, but the examination is different, then how does it prevent that very thing and otherness in other things? Answer: When the nature of having that very nature is examined in detail, because the nature of the property and the property-possessor becoming like that is not established, it is the meaning of the conventional property and property-possessor that prevents that very thing and otherness. In this way, if it is said that the property-possessor and the properties are also different from each other, then they will not become the same entity, just as the sounds of Devas and Yakshas are not the same entity. However, if they are not different from the property-possessor and from each other, then if that is the case, then the sounds that express the property and the property-possessor will become synonyms, the sound of
