The answer to the statement that even if there is harm to a dharma possessing the distinction of the qualities of space, it is not a fault of the tenet, is: it is called "completely." The explanation of "completely" is: from "in all places" to "because it is the very nature of existence." According to the views of oneself and others, Buddhas, and the Vaibhashikas, all dharmas possessing the distinction of the qualities of space, and all that are separate from it, possess the dharma of impermanence itself, which is the very nature of existence. If there is harm, it refers to what is to be established. Fault refers to the characteristic of harming the tenet. Harm does not harm the dharma that one wants to establish; to show this reason, one's own dharma-possessor is mentioned. Furthermore, if it is not like this, even if other dharma-possessors possessing the qualities of space are harmed, what harm is there to this that one wants to establish? There is none. Then, how does it harm? It is "to this." "That dharma and that dharma" refers to possessing what one wants to establish. If it harms, it refers to the dharma one wants to establish. If this reason is not understood by the characteristic, then what is the use of mentioning one's own dharma-possessor for this reason? It is "this reason." If harming the dharma-possessor, how does it harm what one wants to establish? It is "the basis." From "one's own essence" to "if asked," it is explaining "this reason" and so on. Possessing one's own dharma refers to possessing the dharma one wants to establish. "Is it like that?" refers to whether the dharma-possessor possessing one's own dharma is what one wants to establish. Being in accordance with this refers to the nature of what one wants to establish, being in accordance with the dharma-possessor possessing the dharma of impermanence itself, it is the very nature of harm, but it is not harming the dharma-possessor possessing other dharmas. Therefore, dharma refers to the dharma-possessor possessing the dharma of impermanence itself, and not the dharma-possessor possessing other dharmas. Fault is the characteristic of becoming harmful to the tenet. To express the very meaning of what is necessarily to be grasped, it is "furthermore," that is, harming the dharma-possessor possessing the distinction of the qualities of space.

Therefore, the possibility of faults arising does not exist. Therefore, one might think, what is the point of mentioning one's own subject? "That is not," and so on, is an explanation of "subject," and so on. Furthermore, if one's own subject is not mentioned, then "that is harmful" means that the stated dharma is harmful, but not that the subject is harmful. "This also" refers to the debate. "Indeed" refers to the established conclusion. If one wonders how it is established through this meaning, it is "if." Explaining the root part and then explaining the established conclusion is "this is." What is the wrong understanding? It is "like this." If the debater says something, what fault does the opponent point out? It is "for example." "In the explanation" refers to the debater. If the opponent says how to refute this, it is "similarly." For example, not being able to generate a previously non-existent nature is not the nature of negating non-existence. Because sound, etc., are not simultaneous causes. If one says that, like this, through the non-perception that establishes pervasion, can one also establish the non-existence of the essence of things for subjects such as space? To this, the debater, as a Buddhist, replies: "Like that," even if it harms the essence of the subject, there is no harm to the desired proof, which is the negation of not being able to generate a previously non-existent nature. It should also be seen that there is no harm to the non-perception itself, which is the reason for pervasion. "Only for the subject," and so on, is an explanation of "like that for the desired proof," and so on. "Like this" refers to harming only the subject. "Therefore" refers to because of desire. If one asks how it is not the fault of an unestablished basis, it is "being in conceptual thought." "That" refers to the establisher, the to-be-established, or the debater. Because what has become a thing is not the subject, therefore the subject is only separate from the to-be-established. In order to show that there is no fault of harm, (one must explain) one's own subject.
