This is explaining the scope of "existent." The explanation is saying "sound's own characteristic," and so on. "Own characteristic" is there. If it is said that blue, father, Buddha, etc., are also not own characteristics? How are they included by the sound of "audible"? If that is the case, it means "then." If it is said that even if it is apprehended by the sense faculty, how is it an own characteristic? It is saying "the own characteristic of the own characteristic." If it is said that being apprehended by the sense faculty is not only an own characteristic, because the general characteristic is also apprehended by the sense faculty, then, it is said "of the sense faculty." "From what is to be apprehended by the sense faculty," etc., is the fifth reason, because with the reason of "being what is to be apprehended by the sense faculty," it is not the case that the general characteristic other than the own characteristic is also established. Only the own characteristic is established as what is to be apprehended by the sense faculty, but not the general characteristic, that is its meaning. Up to here, it is negating "everything is not an object of expression," and so on. With "valid cognition," etc., it is beginning to explain "because it relies on that which is established," and so on. Therefore, the former is showing that the audible sound is included without doubt, and now it is explaining the necessity of the audible sound. Stating the way of necessity is saying "the very nature established by valid cognition." The very audibility established by valid cognition harms non-audibility, but not otherwise, to show this meaning, the valid cognition is applied, combining the audible sound, that is its meaning. If someone doubts that this will become such a doubt, if it is thought how to show the harm established by valid cognition, it is said "by valid cognition." It means that it is precisely because of audibility, because it is established by valid cognition, that there is harm. If it is said that it is the thing itself that harms the thing, just as fire harms snow, but valid cognition is not like that. Then, how does the audibility established by valid cognition show it? Explaining "because it harms by its power," etc., is "its." Because by the power of valid cognition, audibility harms non-audibility. Where does this come from? It is saying "by valid cognition." The meaning is audible. The other is audib
