Having gone to the front of a certain mountain, realizing that he had reached the great western sea, thinking that he would fall here, he dug out his heart, and for the reason of dwelling relying on the western mountain, he placed the thousand rays of light there. Therefore, wherever the hand of the western setting sun's rays is placed, those actions will become fruitless, because they fall into the great sea without relying on the western mountain, as explained by Magha in the heretical scriptures. Therefore, that is how it is. Therefore, the teacher is an unprecedented sun, so he must have the qualities mentioned before. It is not so with regard to the other qualities just mentioned. Therefore, the word "therefore" is the conclusion of this passage. If someone thinks, since these two are not valid means of knowledge, how can they be harmful? Therefore, it is said, "the remaining." Among them, "promise, result, reason, etc." have already been explained. Or, if one's own words and fame are different from direct perception and inference, but are different depending on the object, even so, how can the two contradictions between one's own words and the scriptures be understood as different? Therefore, it is said, "the remaining." For the same statement, there is a contradiction with one's own words, and for different statements, there is a contradiction with the scriptures, which is the distinction made to the object. In this way, since there are many things to say, it goes beyond the order, first talking about the harm caused by one's own words and fame, and then talking about the harm caused by direct perception, which is what "direct perception" is meant to express. If the essence appears as non-dual, then if it exists, it is the harm of direct perception, which is the connection. If asked how it is non-dual? The answer is "in various ways." If asked what is to be said? The answer is "there." Therefore, if it is said, "how can the clarifier hear the sound?", this is not to deny the connection between the senses and the sound, and this is not direct perception, because it is beyond the scope of the senses, so if it is said, "how can this be an example of direct refutation?", this is refutation. Because it does not admit refuting the connection. If asked what is understood then? The answer is indicated by "then, if." If asked how it is non-dual? The answer is "appearing in various ways."

It is said, "Yes." If it has not been experienced, what is it? It is said to be "caste." The word "also" here is to eliminate what is not manifest and will not cause harm. Therefore, the general dharmas will be shown by "therefore, general dharmas," and so on. If you want to know how to find this meaning in the treatise of the teacher Dignāga, then in order to show that this meaning is not dual, the meaning is explained in the treatise "Direct Perception and Inference." The so-called "that nature" refers to the nature that appears in direct perception. The so-called "negation" refers to generalities and so on. Why? Because the so-called "direct perception" cannot manifest generalities and so on in direct perception, because they are devoid of color, shape, and form. If that is the case, even if it is direct perception, then negating it is harmful to direct perception, then the so-called "in what" refers to in which knowledge caste and so on appear, that is direct perception. Or, in which object of measurement does it appear, that which is not realized is not the object of measurement of direct perception. Negating caste and so on is not harmful to direct perception, because asserting that caste and so on do not exist is completely correct. The so-called "nature" refers to the nature that appears in direct perception. Therefore, the so-called "therefore" is because it is not the object of the senses. The so-called "like two natures" is like the necklace of the source of offerings. The so-called "if" and so on are to show that other unobserved generalities are uncertain. This meaning is like this: if there is no generality, then there will be no name for generality anywhere, because those that are considered to be of the same kind are also different from each other. Because they are not the same, then how do these names related to the same kind and different kinds become the names "these are the same kind, these are different kinds"? If it is said that the negation from non-cow is not unique either, then, the so-called "how," like the variegated and yellow colors of the negation from non-cow, cows and horses also have negations from others. If that is the case, how do you classify cows and horses into one category? Just like cows
