Since it is so, then, it seems that it is precisely the acceptance of the proof of what is to be expressed. If it is not so, what is it that is not to be expressed? It is the word "if." Because that meaning does not appear. Not only is it that what does not appear as being accepted and as the result is not to be expressed. However, if it is said that whatever does not appear to the realization of acceptance that exists in the continuum of the speaker, and the realization of the result that exists in the continuum of the listener, is also not to be expressed, that is the word "if." The word "if" is of another. "If" even if there is desire, is it not that the meaning does not appear to the knowledge of acceptance and result? Why? Outer. That is the word. That is the meaning of the external object. It has already been said, is it that one wants to say something else? The answer is that it does not appear, because there is a connection. How is it? The word desire is, when? When is it said. Or from that, that is, from the realization of acceptance and result, for the one who realizes from sound, because the external object does not appear, so if it is said that it does not appear. If it is so, that is the answer. For that, that is, for inference. Also from the conceptualization of the nature of inference. If it is said that inference is that which has the external object as its object, the answer is that if it is so. It is just so, meaning that the external object also appears to acceptance and result. Therefore, even if it is not truly grasped, it is thought that the external object can only be determined by two kinds of knowledge. If, like inference, external objects also appear to the knowledge of acceptance and so on, why can't meaning be obtained from it? The word "of the external." Realization is, that is, the nature of the knowledge of acceptance and result. If it is so, then it would be thought that there is no object of expression and expression, so it is said that it is not valid cognition. Just like that, that is, the nature of not being valid cognition, that is, the realization is not the nature of valid cognition.

The term "suchness" (tathata) refers to the sound of fame arising from the word "suchness," which is laughter. Where does this "suchness" come from? It is thought that there is nothing to establish "suchness." The commentator said, "What did he say? If you do not consider everything to be expressible from 'suchness,' then the teacher Dignāga, with words such as 'because it is not common,' shows that which harms the expressible, such as existence itself, as being uncommon. That would not work. Therefore, in reality, it is considered that 'suchness' is expressible. For this very reason, the author of the Pramāṇavārttika said, 'Here...' This refers to establishing inexpressibility. Then, when does it become uncommon? The meaning of 'when.' Becoming uncommon is a following statement. Why? The meaning of 'for anything.' Because everything of 'suchness' is to be expressed by sound. How is it shown to be uncommon? The meaning of 'teacher.' The meaning here is that 'in which object' refers to inexpressibility. Inference is that because of existence, it harms the expresser. Therefore, because of uncommonness, the inference of the opposite side does not exist. That which harms the inexpressible, that existence is not a pakṣa (subject), connect it in this way. 'Thus it is said' means there is no inference. This 'this' refers to the fame arising from sound. Saying so is to show certainty, it is a following statement. Certainty is the determiner itself. How can it not be refuted? It is said to be valid cognition (pramāṇa). How is it determined? If it is a determiner. If one word can mainly express two meanings at the same time, then it is said here. For 'anything' etc. The latter meaning is that the fame arising from sound is the former, for what is uncommon.

Therefore, words like "returning," etc., because there is no valid cognition to refute it, it must be said in this way, connect it like that. The preceding "for what," etc., together with the following "fame arising from sound," etc., say that it cannot be refuted, connect it like that. Therefore, these two, the former and the latter, how reasonably, whatever the meaning of the former and latter parts is, cannot be refuted, and because there is no valid cognition to refute it, it must be so, it is applied in a way that shows it. If because of what it becomes the fault of "this is not language itself," then it is not mainly showing two meanings at the same time. The explanation is "at what time." In order to eliminate the argument just raised, it is repeated, "if." Whatever abides in the nature of discrimination, that is manifest because of self-awareness. Therefore, it is because it is the manifest of self-awareness. The explanation of the Pramāṇavārttika is not a response. The object to be particularly attached to is not self-awareness, because it is an external object. Why? Because of the meaning of sound. Possibility is not manifest, because it is the object of discrimination. In order to clarify that it is not the object of manifest, it says "arising from sound." The possibility of the meaning arising from sound being determined as the meaning of sound is, even if it is allowed to be appearance, it is related like that. Appearance is to be known by self-awareness. From what? From the very cause of convention. This is said after admitting it. Even so, the possibility of self-awareness, not that convention arises from that, therefore, the possibility is prevented from being the object of manifest, meaning that possibility is not the object of manifest. For example, even if a moment is an appearance, but because convention does not arise from that, it is not manifest. Appearance, fame arising from sound, even if it is related to the sound of meaning, cannot become manifest, it is related like that. Why can't it become manifest? Because of the connection, it is said like that.
