However, in order to eliminate the misunderstanding of taking it only as what is seen, what one has seen is stated. That is its meaning. To indicate that is 'like this'. The measurer is the opponent. It is my opponent. Others are the opponents. Some are Samkhyas. 'By others' etc. is an explanation of the previous aspect. 'Self' means that what is understood by the opponent is not to be taken as authoritative. If one thinks, why not express it? It is 'even if the opponent understands'. Others are the opponents. If one says 'if it exists', that is if the opponent himself understands. At that time, that very understanding of oneself would become the reason here. If other opponents understand, what is the use? There is no use, that is its meaning. This should be pointed out. Here it refers to the reason. 'Two' refers to the opponent. 'I' refers to the opponent. The explanation of the part of the established tenet is 'think about it'. If one says 'if it is like that', that is what is said by others. Stating what one has seen is done in order to show what one has seen. Because all words have the fruit of completely cutting off, it must be undoubtedly determined that it is what one has seen oneself. Therefore, what is seen by the opponent is what is to be established, so what is seen by the opponent is not what is to be established. Even so, it will only become established by scripture. If it is established by valid cognition, then because it would fall into being established for both, the determination would become meaningless. Therefore, in order to cut off what is seen by others, 'meaningless other', if one says, what is not another meaning, merely the arrangement of conceptual thought would become the proof, that would be too much. The answer to this is 'no'. Stating what one has seen is not to prevent what is seen by others, however, it is to prevent the determination that 'only what is seen by others is to be established'. Whatever one wants to determine to express, it is not determined as 'only by oneself', however, it is 'only what is seen'. Therefore, what is seen by both is also not contradictory. Therefore, this characteristic of stating what one has seen is what one is to express.

How does the characteristic of definitely preventing seeing by both, only self and other, abide? The sound of one's own seeing is known to definitely prevent only by establishing one's own seeing. The meaning of "by this," which shows seeing by both, is that it is the nature of establishing seeing by others besides scripture, by mistaken cognition. If it is said that the meaning itself is characterized only by the meaning of mainly eliminating mistaken cognition, but not by the meaning of showing one's own seeing, and that the sound of one's own seeing only eliminates mistaken cognition and implicitly realizes one's own seeing, then the answer is "for what purpose?" If one thinks, what is unreasonable? It is "for what purpose?" That is, for what purpose, what is the characteristic of needing to show one's own seeing, that which is written is said to be so. "That" is the characteristic of stating the meaning of one's own seeing. To summarize with the word "self" is to be understood through meaning, which is unreasonable. If one thinks, how is it unreasonable? It is because "self" is said. If the sound of one's own seeing does not establish that the opponent has not seen, then at that time it will not be possible to say that the opponent himself has not realized it, but that it has been realized by others. That is the sign. The other is the rebuttal. "The other" means that the opponent has realized it, and knowing this completely, there is no way for the rebuttal. Why? Because "self" means that the rebuttal can be directed at others. If it is said that way, then "self" refers to the opponent. "The other" means that it is established in the rebuttal. Then, the other that is established in the rebuttal is the sign, and if it is said that way, then that which the opponent fully knows will itself become the sign. If one thinks that the opponent has a definite understanding of this sign by the rebuttal, then at that time the opponent must also be definite, otherwise it will not be possible to say that it is established in the younger one. Because there is such a fault, the opponent himself has not realized it, and this is established in the other, how is this possible? It is simply impossible. The other is established as a sign, for direct perception and
