Furthermore, it is called "other." If the opponent does not concede, then it should be made to concede. Therefore, the intention to compose a treatise must also be determined as something to be accomplished, because there is no difference between this and "promising to prove." However, if one wishes to approach the debater's intention with wisdom, then one can also say that the intention to compose a treatise is also the same, which is what is done with wisdom. It is not enough to want to be a proof and for the intention to compose a treatise to merely turn into a sect, but even if one promises to prove exclusion, it will still turn into a sect, which shows what is called "exclusion." Because that is so, it is said, "the conclusion of the other," which is not the explanation of the treatise itself. In this way, refuting the views of others and stating one's own views is called "if it is so." "This" refers to "promising to prove." What is the definition of the gateway of reason? It is called "wanting to become something that needs to be proven." If, even so, one wants to know how to enter this explanation, then "that" refers to the definition of the sect stated in the gateway of reason. "Like this" refers to what is being stated. "Stating that" refers to "if." If one wants to know how to prevent exclusions, then it is also mentioned "there," which refers to the definition stated in the gateway of reason. The remainder is the unestablished proof, and so on. Faults are those with overly broad definitions. Because the definition does not apply to the intention to compose a treatise and to established things, there is actually no sect, but if one wants to know how to understand wanting to be a proof itself, because the word is not mentioned there, then it is "become intention." Because wanting to become something that needs to be proven does not apply to unestablished proofs, it does not apply, and precisely for that reason, in order to refute the unestablished proof. If it refers to another's, if in the manner of stating, the exclusion of the unestablished proof as a sect in the gateway of reason, then at that time it is also so in the Compendium of Valid Cognition. The answer is: that is true.

It is called "also." "The edge of doing" refers to the word and meaning of "what is to be shown." Because one wants it at another time, the proof made into an object is not established. To eliminate that unestablished proof, it is said "that." Here, in the "Garland of Logic," "Nishta branch" is called special, but it is not the main one, because the edge with the condition of being able to do is the main one, so it is connected in this way. Therefore, there, due to the relationship of other times, the reason that is not established will also become what is to be established, and if there is no word "only," it will become the property of the subject, and in order to eliminate that, it is necessary to establish it definitively, so it is only with the fruit. For the word that has become wanted, the wanted cause is not a branch, but only the main one. That is through the wanted cause. How to eliminate and relate? It is "for the word that has become wanted." The time of arising is the branch of establishment, that is, the cause. There refers to the characteristic of the subject spoken of in the gate of reason. All of these are self-statements, as the subject of the law, promising as what is to be established, exhausted as expressions of refutation, etc. Now, because there is not, saying that it is not the meaning is "because it is not an expression." "That wanting" refers to the opponent's wanting. "Therefore" is because only the opponent's wanting is what is to be established. What is not wanted is the quality of space, because it agrees with one meaning, so in the related wanting, even when it harms impermanence itself, it means that even if only impermanence is established. Why? It is "how to establish." "Not like that" refers to not the opponent's wanting. That refers to establishing impermanence itself. Why? It is "ability." Therefore, abandoning the wanting of the treatise and establishing what is to be established is not what is thought. Furthermore, if the treatise writer's wanting is also what is to be established, then at that time the treatise writer's wanting and all of one's own wanting will disappear, because it is impossible to establish that. Therefore, rather than destroying everything, it is better to obtain a little of what one wants to establish.
