It is not to be established, but it is already established. Therefore, saying that the thing mentioned itself is not for that meaning is called subsequent inference. As a characteristic of the dharma to be established, the sound and so on that have the nature of dharma are characteristics, so the subsequent inference with that as its object does not exist, because it has been said that it enters into the example and the common generality, which is what is meant to be expressed. If it is not because one has spoken of oneself that it is not shown that the dharma is not to be established, then would it contradict the definition? Thinking this, here it is said like this. The definition of direction here is: it is not that the dharma nature is to be established, even if one speaks of oneself, even if one does not say such a thing, there is not the slightest contradiction. Subsequent inference is able to recognize that the dharma nature is not to be established only because it is a universal object. If the dharma nature is also only universal, then would it excessively become something to be established? It is called "dharma nature." Other than that, it is not established. Why is there no fault? It is called "one's own definition." Furthermore, if the dharma nature is to be established, then it is only a fault of reason, not a fault of direction, so saying that it is not avoided only by the definition of direction is called "furthermore." The absence of subsequent following is a fault of reason, not of direction. Therefore, saying that that fault is only to be avoided by that definition is called "this itself." The absence of subsequent following, and the incomplete nature of what is to be established, are of reason and example. What reason and so on depend on is called the definition of not being established and so on. The necessity of the answer to this excessive inference is "if for example." "Other reasons" refers to what is done and so on. "Like that, wherever there are other reasons, there is only a fault of reason," after making such a distinction, saying "wherever there is no reason, there is only a fault of direction," is called "wherever." Dharma nature One's own definition is to be established, there is no reason, because there is no subsequent following. Therefore, this is only a fault of direction, why is that? Existence

འི་ means "of one's own." ། "That is" means one's own thought. ། "Therefore" means that because the Dharma does not follow, it is impossible to accomplish everything. ། This impossibility of the nature of the subject of dharma, does it depend on reasoning, or does it abide in itself without depending on others? If you think that neither is the case, then, if it is "if, because of the sign," etc. Not following, etc., is the fault of the sign itself, not the fault of the aspect. ། If you think, which fault depends on reasoning, then that is what depends on itself? That is what is said, it is the fault of reasoning. ། Why? It is also said, "Because of seeing." ། In order to accomplish that which has the nature of dharma. ། This very phrase of reasoning is, if it is "one's own nature," etc. ། The doubt is, if the aspect that becomes manifest through inference is not accomplished? The answer is "then." ། If even though it is established by direct perception, is the aspect of accomplishment itself not a fault in accomplishment? It is "on accomplishment," etc. ། Then, what is the fault of the aspect? That is what is said, the fault of accomplishment on accomplishment, there too, only oneself is established by direct perception, it is the fault of reasoning, thus connecting. For the direct perception established by both the proponent and the opponent, thus connecting. If you think that just as accomplishment by inference is an aspect, accomplishment by scripture is also an aspect, it is "by scripture," etc. ། Just as it is not an aspect because it does not follow when established by direct perception, so too is it when established by scripture. ། The opponents state that the example and the meaning of the Dharma are not the same, it is "if," etc. ། How is it? It is said, "The object of scripture is." ། The answer is "this itself." ། The way of stating it is said, "of reasoning." ། For that which is established by scripture, only from that there is no transformation itself, but, then how is it not the aspect itself? "For this too," that is, it is also established by scripture. ། Merely showing the transformation from the aspect itself is "like this." ། That is the aspect. ། Through what does it become the aspect of accomplishment itself, what does reasoning need? For others, it is the opponent.
