The respondent replies: 'Then, if' etc. The other difference lies in the difference of blue. Furthermore, 'to become' means to be separated from the blue lotus itself. 'To make become' means to make it possess the blue lotus itself. Why is it a valid means of knowledge? That which is established by the sound of blue and is separated from the blue lotus itself is different, that is, it cannot make it possess the blue lotus itself. It is also unreasonable to understand separation from the blue lotus itself by the sound of blue. Why? 'Suitable to gather' etc. 'That' refers to the nature of all without distinction. Will the sound of blue also understand it as possessing the blue lotus itself? That is the meaning. Therefore, the sound of the blue lotus is meaningless. 'If understood' etc., even if it is understood by the sound of blue as being separated from the blue lotus itself, the blue itself is the nature of that object. How can the sound of the blue lotus make it different, that is, related to the blue lotus itself? 'Adding the remainder' etc., it is only the addition of the blue lotus that is done by the sound of the blue lotus, but it is not the nature of the blue lotus. From the other, that is, from the sound of the blue lotus. It is not said that before the combination of the sound of the blue lotus, it is neither understood as possessing the dharma of the blue lotus nor understood as possessing the dharma of the non-blue lotus, but by combining the sound of the blue lotus, it is to increase the understanding of the object as the blue lotus itself, and not to separate it from the non-blue lotus. Then, how to separate from the non-blue lotus? 'From that' etc., separation from the non-blue lotus is because it is determined that it is impossible for the object to have the nature of the non-blue lotus. Therefore, separation from the non-blue lotus is established from the other, and from the sound, it is only to increase understanding. How to determine that it is impossible? 'With that' etc., connecting, that object will not become possessing the dharma of the blue lotus itself, 'other than that' etc., it will also not become possessing the dharma of the non-blue lotus. The dharma possessing the blue lotus itself and the non-blue lotus itself will not become one, that is the meaning. How to think that this is not true? 'If' etc. For the sound of blue, the blue itself is the cuckoo etc.

I understand something that is common or uncommon. Regarding this, if it is shown that the distinctions of livestock such as cuckoos are obtained by means of valid cognition, that is, by the sound of blue, then even if thousands more of "utpala, utpala" are added in that way, it is impossible to reverse what has already been obtained. What comes by the power of valid cognition is not reversed by fabrication. Eliminating the two is: if other livestock are not obtained, then, in order to understand that the meaning of utpala itself is limited by the sound of blue, what is the use of adding other distinctions besides utpala itself? Here, the so-called "here" refers to being understood by oneself entirely. Because, for utpala itself, there is nothing that can be reversed by other distinctions of the realm of fabrication. Therefore, the so-called "therefore" refers to because there is nothing that can be reversed. Therefore, the so-called "therefore" refers to because it is grasped by oneself entirely. It is meaningless to understand other distinctions by means of other valid cognitions or other sounds. The so-called "if" refers to following the views of others. The so-called "therefore" refers to refuting. The sound of "merely" prevents clear understanding. Because it is not symbolized by symbolic generality. If one understands in that way, would one think that all distinctions are grasped? In terms of direct perception, it is like that, that is, possessing all distinctions themselves. If someone raises the question that direct perception also does not grasp the object that possesses the entirety of the collection of distinctions, then the so-called "however" is to welcome this question. In that case, one would never grasp the object, because one always only grasps color and shape. If someone asks what certainty there is, then the so-called "therefore" refers to because it becomes the characteristic of the object of cognition, and because it is not cognized, it is not established. The so-called "other object from that" is the answer. How would that become another object for me? It would not become so at all, because it is not cognized, that is its meaning. The so-called "therefore" refers to because the subject of the dharma, a single object, does not exist. The question is: Buddhists would ask, what would the common basis become for you? This is just an approximate example, so what would it become in the terminology of establishment and negation? This refers to relying on a single subject of the dharma such as sound, and being indicated by the wisdom of having conceptual thought. What kind of subject of the dharma counts as one? Various
