If someone asks: Is it necessary to determine that only existence is true? The answer is: Yes, existence is true. Because you have admitted that all things exist in all things. For example, the existence of wood, etc., in a lump of clay cannot be denied even by potters, etc., because the material of clay is not allowed. Or, if it is undeniable like that, then saying that only faults exist is called "denial." If potters, etc., can make the existence of wood, etc., in a lump of clay undeniable, then how can the fact that trees, etc., do not exist be recognized later? According to the Samkhya school, at one moment, the lump of clay completely becomes the self-nature of a pot, and at another moment, it becomes the self-nature of trees, etc., which is reasonable. However, when a pot is produced, it disappears, so it will not be recognized later either. If someone asks: Can it only be recognized later from non-existence? The answer is: No, not from existence. The mere manifestation of arising is not correct. For those who claim that the effect already exists, the clear distinction of sound is also unreasonable, because certainty itself also exists, which is called "the prior effect." Therefore, it means because of existence. And "that also" refers not only to the sprout but also to certainty. "Existence" refers to certainty. The answer is: If "that also" is the manifestation. For "that," it refers to the manifestation. Then, is it related to both? It refers to existence and non-existence themselves. Summarizing what has been said, it refers to "if it is for indication." "Therefore" refers to the fact that the collection of authors is meaningless. A pot is not manifested through effort, but a lamp is used to manifest. Similarly, will sound also be manifested through effort? This is suspected, and is called "then how." The answer is: Like a pot, sound is used to manifest. Why? Because it is a pot. Previously, it refers to before the existence of lamps, etc. Because there is knowledge with touch, etc., as its object. If someone suspects: For sound, before effort, does a valid cognition that recognizes prior existence also exist? This is called "for this also," which refers to sound also. Two knowledges refer to what is already known and what is known

It exists in the middle of two faces. "That" is called knowledge. "If" is called debate. "That" is called seeing. "The answer" is "that is not." "Not born of the senses" is called recollection. If that is so, even if it is so, how is it not a valid means of knowledge? It is said to be "sense-born recollection." Therefore, it is said to be because there is no other knowledge. Because it is not sense-born, recollection, that is, recognition, is indeed a valid means of knowledge. How is it not sense-born? It is said to be "the senses." "Otherwise" is called entering. "Therefore" is called because it is to be remembered. "However" is called debate. "The answer" is "also with knowledge when recognizing the seen face." Doubt is understanding the seen face as one together with recollection. "That" is called measuring with recollection. If recollection is not a valid means of knowledge, then, even if the object to be remembered is unreal, how is its oneness not unreal? It is said to be "object." If the connection with the past time is not understood by recollection, but by direct perception. Then, how is it thought that its oneness is not unreal? It is said to be "past time." If, like the connection with the past time, the nature that appears is also not understood only by recollection, then is it not? It is said to be "just a thing." How is it understood even without recognition? It is said to be "white." Why? It is said to be "first." "That" is called merely the appearance of nature. What is seen first is determined to be blue, but it is not permanent. Other schools also believe that it appears to be permanent only when seeing the second time, and so on. There also, it is said to be for the first appearance. "If how does the negation of direct perception appear?" It is said to be "direct perception is." That is permanent. "The answer" is "if." If all parts of time are determined, then it is so. The mere appearance of things in between is what is said. "In a concluding way, the connection with the past time" is explained as "therefore," in order to grasp the end of death. Because recollection is not a valid means of knowledge.
