Explained in detail by... The term "sole focus" refers to the state of manifest clarity. The meaning is that the previous object has two aspects: the first is characterized by a lump, and when the lump disappears, it is characterized by the absence of a lump. When focusing on a lump in the object that has a lump, it is focusing on the universal. When the lump disappears, that object is not pervasive, because the nature of the lump remains in an unclear state. Therefore, when the previous object exists with a manifestly clear nature, it is said that its object is pervasive; when it exists there in an unclear state, it is said that the object is not pervasive. Temporal pervasiveness means that it becomes pervasive simply by existing as the main nature in the state of unclearness and clarity. The term "merely object-pervasive" is an approximation, because in the state of unclearness, even object-pervasiveness cannot be recognized. Those of established tenets, thinking that unclearness is impossible, ask the question, "Kalpa?" The other's answer is, "Non-manifestation." To show that this is also unreasonable, it is said, "How?" "Manifestation" means having the nature of color and shape. Welcoming the doubt is "In another object," that is, in the object where clarity has passed away. Because it is not different, saying "This distinction will not change here" refers to "manifestation." "Is that so?" refers to when pervasiveness itself disappears. "If that is so" refers to when the universal disappears. If the universal is not other than the lump, but is a universal with the nature of self and so on, then isn't the appearance that follows the mind itself? So how could it not exist? The answer is, "From clarity." Because the similar form is unreasonable in other ways, to welcome the doubt that the universal is established, it is said, "Then?" The answer is, "Color and..." "That way" means "These are similar." The term "suitable for the realm" refers to the characteristics of the royal lineage. There, the realization of having a similar form is accomplished simply by doing the same thing. Repeating what has already been said for the sake of redundant expression, it is said, "Furthermore." Which non-Buddhists say that the reason for the realization of similar forms is the universal?

It is said to be unreasonable. Why? Because whatever is understood as general is either made by things of the same meaning or produced by the same cause. Conversely, it is what is called "general." Brahmins, in general, do not exist, because they are common with the basis of caste, etc. In order to eliminate the doubt that other establishments such as distinctions are unreasonable, it is said, "If," etc. The answer is, "Caste exists," even if caste exists, there will be no difference between sin and merit. Why? Because caste can be killed. It is said that this establishment is not established by valid cognition, so it is said, "Sin," etc. The debate is from "Sutra" to "Outsider says." "Close grasping" is the established tenet. "Close grasping" refers to the designation "This is a Brahmin." How is the similar aspect grasped? It is "similar." Whether it is beginningless habit or close grasping, they arise from these. It is said that the aspect grasped by it is determined, that is, "other than it," that is, other than habit and close grasping. In order to show that there is no general from other aspects as well, if two distinctions are said, it is "Another," etc. From the manifestation of the understanding of the general, is the aspect of the general different from the general recognized? This is one distinction. Or it is other, it is merely understanding, this is the second distinction. Therefore, this must be understood without a doubt. Otherwise, if it cannot be understood, it will become the behavior of the blind, because there is no definite understanding of the object to be measured. In order to eliminate the first distinction, it is said, "From difference." It means that the nature of difference, that is, the aspect of recognizing indistinct blue, etc. In order to eliminate the second distinction, it is said, "Other than it," if it is merely admitted to be understanding, then the existence of the general to be measured is not real, but merely manifested by understanding. The explanation is "If," etc. "Thus" refers to the aspect different from the manifestation.
