Sa bya bar ro. Therefore, it should be said, "Because impermanence is all," but if it is said, "Because all is impermanent," that is only because one has not studied well, so it is said to be "unlearned." The commentary is referred to as "others." If one wonders how these two contradict each other, it is "if." Having explained the part of the debate, the part of the tenet is explained next, which is "to that it is said." For the time being, the author himself answers, "Contradiction." "If it is so," if there is no benefit, because it is not coexistent, it is a contradiction. At that time, all the faults of the limbs will become the faults of the subject, and there will be no opportunity to become the faults of the proof. It means, even if there is no difference, will it be stated separately? "Because it harms the meaning of the proposition." Thus, having refuted the useless aspect, the aspect of eliminating non-coexistence is stated next, which is "or, the nature of non-coexistence," meaning "unrelated" will follow. "Or," if the subject "sound" has the reason "because all is impermanent," then the proposition "is permanent" itself will be excluded, so it is thought not to be unestablished. The answer is "if it is so." By what valid cognition is it determined that the subject "sound" has the reason "because all is impermanent"? Precisely because it harms the proposition "sound is permanent," it will be excluded by valid cognition and will become a pseudo-subject, which will be included among the pseudo-subjects excluded by direct perception, etc. It means that it will not become a pseudo-subject where the proposition and the reason contradict each other. If it possesses the reason of impermanence. Jayanta explains the meaning of the Commentary on Valid Cognition: If sound itself is impermanent, and it is also said to possess a reason, then, at that time, because "all is impermanent," that subject will be excluded. Others, following the explanation, explain it differently: If sound possesses the reason of impermanence, then, because "all is impermanent."

If it is said "rara," then, at that time, like this, because it contradicts the reason and commitment that others clearly want to express, that side will be overturned, that is, excluded. The explanation is: if sound is so praised because it has the reason of impermanence, then add "something that will be excluded at that time," meaning "this is also not existent." If you want to know what that is, it is "because of what." "For this" refers to the statement "sound is permanent, because everything is impermanent." From showing examples, what other reason is there to show? It means there is only none. It is considered that showing the example itself is meaningful here. If you want to know what is an example that conforms to the Dharma, it is the statement "sound is permanent." If others say "this is also an unlearned statement," that is "here also." "That itself" refers to showing the example of not conforming to the Dharma itself. If it is said "this as a reason," then, because the statement "because everything is impermanent" shows the reason, it becomes a reason. Or, if the sound itself shows impermanence, then the reason and commitment are self-contradictory, if it is said like that, then it is said "like that," the sound itself will show impermanence. This, through "for this, from showing the example itself" etc., shows that impermanence having a reason is close to reason. If you want to know why it is not suitable to show impermanence, it is "like this" etc. In particular, if for the dharma characteristic sound, another, that is, the opposite permanent, is said, then, in general, because the universal, that is, the impermanence pervading all dharma characteristics, follows, therefore, it is said, the characteristic of sound, especially the universality of impermanence, is not pervasive. Saying specifically "sound is permanent" is excluded, while saying universally "because everything is impermanent" is universal. Therefore, by excluding the excluded object, the universal will enter, through this reasoning, sound will not be pervaded by universality. Even if it pervades, what result is there in saying "sound is impermanent"? There is no need at all. That
