Lato. Since all the limbs are of a nature that is not established prior to stating the characteristics, abandoning its object is not the characteristic of a proposition. Because of the reason why it is so, through the detailed explanation of the differences of actions and so on, this answer distinguishes what is called 'that which establishes' from 'that which is to be established,' but it is not possible in any way. This refutes the first two arguments. To eliminate the last argument, the first line of the first chapter of the commentary is explained, and the second chapter of the commentary is explained, together with the following content, that is, 'thesis' means the established thesis that has been promised. 'All that is not established' refers to the reason that is not established, and so on. 'Because of the promise' means because it is the established thesis that has been promised. To clarify that it is the established thesis that has been promised, words from the treatise are quoted. If it is thought that even if it is the established thesis that has been promised, how can the reason that is not established, and so on, become what is to be established? 'That' refers to the reason that is not established, and so on. Although it was initially promised as that which establishes, later the opponent questioned, if this that which establishes is not established, then how can it be understood from this what is to be established? After refutation and examination, that which establishes becomes what is to be established, so it will inevitably be promised as what is to be established. Why? Because it is said 'not established.' If it is thought that what is to be established is only what is not established, and is the promised established thesis only the present? To eliminate this doubt, 'the cause of action' is said. The word 'to be established' ends with the cause of action, and the cause of action also changes with the three times. Similarly, the word 'promised' also applies to the three times. 'All' refers to that which establishes that has been clearly indicated and that has not been indicated. Having eliminated the last argument in this way, to eliminate the middle argument, 'or' is said. Since the word of the self-nature of what is to be established itself excludes the nature of being established, when will that which establishes, and so on, which is established, not be the proposition itself?

Ba means dispute. The answer is "also." This is an explanation negating "this should not be the probandum's limb." Because the meaning to be shown by it is not established, all the characteristics of the limb are not established. When is that? Before the establishment of the characteristic. The term "all" means that all that is to be established, whether shown or not shown, will become the thesis, thus connecting. If what is to be established is also shown as the thesis, then what will make its definition meaningful? What is the very thing to be established? It is "not that," that is, not the thesis. Establishment, showing itself as the very thing to be established, is the very thing to be established. The word "all" is explained by the word "also," which means "or." The unestablished probandum, etc., because there is no reason for it not to be the thesis. The term "then" means, will the unestablished establishment, etc., become the probandum? Or it may not become, it is also possible, thus it becomes doubt. The thesis must also be shown as certain. If there is doubt, it will not be established. The answer is "no," therefore there is no room for doubt. Having thus eliminated two disputes, the first dispute is repeated, which is "if." "How can it not be possible," etc., is an explanation of the meaning. The answer is "this is not," because the very thing to be established is the force of intention. How is that? By the method itself. If what is to be established is not established by another, then showing itself as the very thing to be established will not become the very thing to be established. Or, because it is showing itself as the very thing to be established, it is thought not to be animal intention, here it refers to the animal intention that can act. The particularly superior cause is his cause. Why? Because wanting the classification of the sutras, "wanting" is one sutra, "the root of wanting" is the second, lacking one of these two.
