Thus it is said. If one thinks, what contradiction is there? It is called "distinct." Therefore, the opponent must assert that it is only non-distinct. At that time, it will only become an examination of the possessor of limbs, but not in the ultimate sense. If it is distinct from the nature of the possessor of limbs, then the limbs are not manifest. If one asks, how does it become manifest? It is called "if." What is called "is manifest" are the limbs. Stating what is not manifest is called "where." What is called "its entity" is the nature of being non-distinct from the possessor of limbs. What is called "thus" is manifest. If the limbs are not manifest, then it is said that the other's tenet is not accomplished, it is called "it is not so." To explain this example in another way, it is called "or." Previously, it was shown that the limbs are not manifest, now it is shown that the possessor of limbs is not manifest. What is called "it" is the possessor of limbs. If one asks, how does it become non-manifest? It is called "if it is other." What is called "those" are the limbs. If one asks, how is it non-manifest, how does the other become non-manifest? It is called "limb." What is called "the first limb" is like the second atom. What is called "other" refers to those with the second atom, and so on. The answer is, it is called "one." Therefore, it is called "therefore" because there is no possessor of limbs. Therefore, it is called "therefore" because it is not other. After explaining the second example in two ways, the third is explained, it is called "thus." After stating that there is no difference between qualities and substances in the distinct aspect, it is also stated that there is no difference in the non-distinct aspect, it is called "even if they are not mutually exclusive," meaning even if qualities and substances are not non-distinct. If one asks, from where is there a distinction? It is only substance, and this is only quality, from where is it distinct? Is the generality of the nature of quality and the nature of substance, for qualities and substances, without distinction, or is there a distinction? For the first aspect, it is called "one's own nature." If the two generalities follow qualities and substances, then they will become qualities and substances themselves, and there will be no other generality.

Alas! The second statement is: If the quality itself is other. This is what is to be said. The word "also" is used to summarize, saying that even if the substance itself is other. There, the word "also" refers to the quality itself and the substance itself. If someone thinks, what harm is there in existing? Therefore, it is said like this. Because it is related to existence. The previous inference that the quality itself is no different from the substance will become irrefutable. For example, because it has qualities, it is said that the quality is no different from the substance, similarly, because the quality itself also has qualities, it will become the substance itself. This is what is to be said: If existence itself exists. For quality and quality itself, existence itself, if it is admitted that existence itself exists, then all, that is, both quality and quality itself will become substance. When will this happen? At different and same times, that is, quality and substance, at different and not same times. Similarly, in general, it is also the same at different and not same times. The argument of mutual exclusion and so on means that if substance and quality are not the same, then it will become indistinguishable, which is reasonable, for difference, because it has the substance itself, so the manifestation of the substance is different from the manifestation of the quality, which is reasonable. The meaning of the conclusion is: In the different aspects, for the meaning like an iron skewer, because there is no distinction between main and non-main, then how can there be a distinction between substance and another? The reason for doubting the distinction between substance and another, etc., is the quality itself, etc. The answer is: Because it has the substance and the other itself, it is not the substance and the other. Why? Because of the manifestation of quality. Otherwise, if it is not to be manifested, then the quality itself will not be established. Where does this come from? From the quality itself. The commonality of the quality itself and the substance itself is: it is not possible to determine the difference between each other with one's own characteristics, because of the lack of color, shape, and letters, so the general form is the same for both. That, that is, the difference between the quality itself and the substance itself, is the unique nature of the substance itself or the quality itself.
