So! Just as seeing the perception of mistaking white for yellow's nature, there is no contradiction because the nature of things is clearly manifest, yet it is understood in a way that is not clear. Or, if inference is mistaken because it does not touch the nature of things, how can it act on things? Therefore, it is said, "In other ways as well." Understanding is action, it is connection. This can also be seen without touching the object, for example, Lhasin thinks he is an offering-maker and makes offerings. Or, not only is it the nature of inference, but understanding can also be seen in other ways, understanding refers to direct perception. The so-called "other way" means that even if the object to be obtained is not touched, it is still seen as valid. If one thinks, how is the thought obtained? Because what appears is what is to be obtained, how can one not understand? Therefore, it is said, "In this aspect." "Because it does not appear attached in that way," etc., means that it has already been prevented from grasping conceptual thoughts as real things. If the understanding of inference is not like the way things are, then how can there be special attachment? Because it is not deceptive like direct perception. Doubt is "like that," that is, even direct perception does not have non-deceptive thoughts. For this, it is also for inference. Inference is the way things are, meaning "it is like this." "This" etc. is the answer. For those who use names, just like direct perception, inference is the appearance of attachment as things really are. So, how can one understand that inference is not like the way things are? Therefore, it is said, "This is by the explainers." The understanding of inference is mistaken because it appears attached in a way that is not like the way things are, this understanding is the explainers' own, not those who use names, that is its meaning. If inference has the thought "I want to obtain fire," how is that possible? Because it only sees its own image. So, because there is no thought, it has non-deceptive thoughts. Therefore, this is also present in it.

If there is doubt as to how to say "there," the answer is: It is said for the sake of others seeing. If it is said that seeing a pot will not give rise to the thought of cloth, then, if relying on the person who makes the expression, the thought will not be mistaken, then how does it become a thing from that individually determined thing? The answer is: That is the meaning. Merely relying on reason, it will be mistaken, but relying on others, the thought will not be mistaken, that is the meaning. This means that even when seeing other things, thoughts of other things will arise. If it is thought that if conceptualization cannot determine things, then how does it enter into that individually determined thing? In order to eliminate this doubt, it is said, "Recognition is also seen through other means." The explanation is, therefore, that the habit is sufficient. For inference that has not fully analyzed the self-nature of things, it is for the self-nature of things. If it is thought, why should this not be argued? The answer is: It is said, "For seeing." In order to show that even direct perception, like inference, only enters when there is no contact with the self-nature of things, it is said, "For direct perception also." Why? The answer is: It is said, "That also," that is, for the direct perception that proves. How? The answer is: It is said, "Close by." If it is wrong, it is because inference is related to conceptualization, so the object to be obtained should arise, and because there is contact, it will enter, but direct perception is not like that. Why? The answer is: It is said, "Just close by." If entering is for the sake of obtaining, then what is the use of entering for that which has already happened? "There also" refers to direct perception also. "That and" refers to what will happen now. "Therefore," is because of completely clinging together. "That like that" refers to being like direct perception. "Sameness" refers to inference and direct perception. "In order to welcome the doubt that sameness is unreasonable," is "However." Direct perception enters through the way of generating conceptualization that is completely clinging, but inference is not like that, that is the meaning. For inference, there is also what arises after it.
