That which is understanding is following. Other means not an object of focus. "Other time" means also the time of recollection. "In its own nature" means in the nature of the object of focus. "Other" means it is an object of focus. "Other" means it is the very nature of not being an object of focus. Thus, for a while, even at the time of recollection, that which exists is without an object of focus, having shown this. "I am the valid cognition with an object that becomes the arising of recollection, therefore, one who goes to that object, the object's nature of being an object of focus is unavoidable," saying this is recollection. "The existing that becomes" means the object of the obtained knowledge, but not the unobserved that exists at the time of recollection. Therefore, it is unreasonable to understand as existing that which exists at the time of recollection but has not been experienced, because recollection has not made it an object. If both are only objects of focus, then how? It means the two measurable are without existence. "That very nature" is the answer. It is only an object of focus. "By the nature of another" means by the nature of what was seen before or by the nature of the aspect of knowledge. "Example" means that which clarifies that very nature. "Thus" means in the existence of an object of focus. How does one nature become many? Saying this, it is the very nature of the object of focus. "In that" is because of superimposing on the nature of what is seen in the example. If so, then how, etc., by dependence, the made differences become not the true nature, the dispute of saying this, following the saying is true, thus answering. Then how to establish such terminology? It is said, "Through the door of not deceiving in things." Whoever does not understand the very difference between appearance and what is to be conceptualized. Because of the cause of establishing terminology in this way, therefore, the meaning of appearance and what is to be conceptualized, in making it one nature, it is dependent on the nature of things. Or, because of the nature of both, etc., in one nature.

If it is said that it is self-nature and other-nature, then because the object of measurement of the nature of those two is other-nature, this is what is called. From the statement of the debate to "that is not a caste," and so on. If one admits realization, there is also fault, this is what is called "realization also." If one thinks that the object of measurement is confused, how can it become two measures? The answer is, by the difference of realization itself. It is not because the self-nature of what is to be measured is different. Because the nature approached by inference is not clear, there is no nature of both there, so it is not confused with the nature of things. This is also said after admitting in what way one is the nature of both, but that is not reasonable in the ultimate sense, because it is dependent, this is what is called "or." The manifestation of one nature, and the different non-manifestation, by itself is the function of different realizations, that is only not the ultimate truth. Therefore, one thing does not have two natures. If it is not because of dependence that one sees the difference of one thing, then how is it just denying the nature of one thing? The answer is, blue and so on. What is called "that" is blue itself and so on. What is called "not different" is having various forms. Therefore, by what does it become another measure, one thing does not have two natures. If the difference of the object of measurement is not the ultimate truth, then how is it? What is called "is the measure itself" is inference. Because the difference of the object of measurement itself is the nature of investigation, it is the ultimate truth. But it is not the thing itself, just like direct perception, obtaining the nature of the thing of inference, that is not other than the ultimate truth, therefore, doubting that inference is also a measure, just like direct perception. Others say that one object, direct perception and inference have no difference, the answer is, then, that is to say that inference will become no different from direct perception. In order to clarify that point, the answer is, directly with its own nature. Or, if it is not with its own nature as the object, but

However, if one recognizes it through the nature of something else, how can one recognize it? To say that "white is not recognized by yellow itself" means that one is ignorant of one's own nature, and although it appears as manifest, it appears as the nature of something else. Therefore, if one cannot recognize it due to delusion, how can one recognize it? The answer is that because inference clings to its own meaningless appearance and particularly clings to meaning, it is considered delusion. This is like saying "appearing as it is." Because reality is appearing as it is, because this is the characteristic of inverted appearance. Therefore, relative to the manifest, the second type of inferential cognition is delusion. What is the meaning of "as it is"? It is what is to be explained, that is, the meaning of place, time, and aspect being definite. Explaining the meaning of time and place being definite is "now" and so on. "Like that" refers to the determination of time. "Therefore" refers to the determination of place. "Different due to the difference of causes" refers to the manifestation of self-nature. If there is no clinging to the manifestation of its self-nature, then how can it be delusion? The answer is that although one does not touch the object, one particularly clings to it. If one does not touch it, then how does one touch it? If one particularly clings to it, then how is it? The answer is, through the meaning previously seen. Temporarily explaining the meaning of the Pramāṇavārttika that will be explained from the opposite perspective is "if" and so on. "Will not change" refers to inferring according to the situation. "Saying that itself" means that inference itself is not valid cognition. If one recognizes it through the nature of something else, then it is not valid cognition. Why? The answer is that because it is delusion, it means that recognizing the nature of something else will result in obtaining the nature of something else. Explaining from the perspective of following is "if" and so on. If one sees my appearance but establishes it as the nature of something else, but in obtaining the desired appearance, there is no omission as one thinks, then it is valid cognition, just like manifest cognition. This is like saying "on the road." If one obtains as one thinks, then how can one recognize other things through other appearances, or how can it be delusion? The answer is, through other appearances.
