Because the appearance is common to both, the doubt arises, "Is it doubt?" which means "Why is it that, that is, that is." Another line of reasoning is. Conversely, it is also related to the object. For the appearance that is common to things and non-things, the answer is "It is not a thing," which means "Oh, then." If remembering because it is not a thing is the reason for doubt, then because the general characteristic is manifest, it should not be a special characteristic of the manifest. The so-called "From where is it special?" refers to trees, boats, etc. The so-called "Is it that itself?" refers to the general characteristic related to the appearance. The so-called "It is other" refers to something different from standing upright. If it is said, "It is the nature of that itself," then it is standing upright itself. How can doubt arise about the pot itself from seeing fabrics such as trees and boats? It won't. The so-called "From there also" refers to doubt. The so-called "that" refers to the nature of the special characteristic. That also refers to each part itself. The so-called "If" refers to the answer. The so-called "Sometimes" refers to doubt. Because trees, boats, and people do not exist simultaneously in the general characteristic of each part itself, it means that none of them have been seen. The so-called "Other times" refers to the answer. Doubt refers to both, that is, the nature of trees, boats, and people. The answer is "How," meaning that at one time, both cannot be seen. For the distinction in time, doubting whether both can be seen, the answer is "Time will become different." The answer is "Memory also." The so-called "Like that" means that it has not gone beyond seeing itself. The so-called "Here" refers to what others say. In each part itself, the tree itself and the person itself were previously seen sequentially. Here, it means that now both cannot be seen, so there will be no doubt. The conclusion is "Oh, then." The so-called "If according to your doctrine," there will be no doubt about seeing and not seeing, then how can you say this is a fault? To explain how it does not become a fault, the consciousness without an object arising from habit sometimes is the reason for doubt, so it is said "Therefore," that is, because the nature of the thing has not been seen. Consciousness is following this.

It is certain. Doubt is like the nature of a trunk, boat, or person. If, even for general, aimless cognition, is not the cognition of doubt itself aimful? To raise a question is what is meant by "why". Doubt, as the object of doubt, is what has become like that, has become the form of both. "Not" refers to negation. Why? Because it is said "conviction". Because there is no conviction about things that are not deceptive. So, if one thinks what kind of conviction is there about it? It is said "this is". So, if one thinks how can the mundane be the object of doubt? If one admits that it is not mundane, it will become admitting that it is cognition. It has already been said that even so, it is established as aimless. Therefore, it is because it is aimless. Because there is no appearance, it is because the two differences are not clear. Not seeing is what it means to have doubts about some things. The other "not" is not from that appearance. Because of that, doubt is not possible in the realm of things themselves. Therefore, to raise a question about the object of inference being the thing itself is what is meant by "or for a while". If inference is grasping the nature of things, like direct perception, even if one understands in the same way, it will not waver. The previous continuum of cognition will not waver, and other continuums also enter because they want to enter, this is what is said. There, it refers to inference. Direct perception is also the same in that it wavers. Because there is not that, it does not waver. Even if there is discrimination, if there is a cause, grasping one's own nature will change. Because there is no cause, there is no arising, it is the same for inference, to raise a question is what is meant by "for inference also". "Not" refers to not being imputed, when not arising from fire. Why? Because it is said "that is", it refers to inference. Because seeing wavering, this is related to not arising from fire. "The other" refers to not arising from fire itself.
