That is the meaning for that reason. That was said when he composed the Pramāṇavārttika. What was said? In general, it is not said that the general is different from other generals. Then, where is the difference between the generals? It is the proximate taking. Then, because of taking other from other places. If it says "if" etc., that is entering the Pramāṇavārttika. Even that is not so, saying it is not what is said, but it is what is said. How is it said? Because it said "because of what". Now it is not the end, but it will involve the meaning of past and future. If it is thought that because there is a general there, therefore the sound with that reason enters. Then, how can existence become a non-existent dharma such as the past? Why? Because it said "existence". The answer to the doubt about the dharma of existence is "other manifestation". "Its dharma" is the answer, it is the nature of the present manifestation. Then, if that is the past itself, then "general" etc. Even so, the nature of non-existence is contrary to existence, it will pervade, it is said "non-existent dharma". Existence itself is not pervasive, it is said that it is not contrary to the non-existent dharma. "Even if it is" etc. The answer to the doubt that these two are uncertain is "what is contrary?" "That is the absence of connection itself" is the answer. How is it said? Because it said "non-existence". "That is so" is when understanding the connection between non-existence and existence. The general will also be understood as non-existence itself. But it is not possible to understand non-existence. For example, it is said that understanding non-existence is like understanding nothing, thus connecting. By what is it understood that only manifestation is non-existent, but the general is not, understanding that the difference between these two is not existent, it is said "because there is no difference". It is the meaning of abandoning the non-existence of the general. Saying that manifestation itself is existent is "then". Why? Because it said "past and". "If" is the answer. "Knowledge" is what others say. "That knowledge also" is the established conclusion. The answer to the doubt that it is understood as hidden itself, then it is the past itself is "manifestation itself".

Oh! "By its own nature" means the answer. Therefore, these are "past and future things do not exist" and so on. When it exists, the conclusion is "therefore." For things that exist in the present, the sound of the pot is primary. For things that do not exist in the past, etc., it is the general characteristic that has become the object of valid cognition or the approximate addition from other things, which is to welcome doubts. If approximately added... Because for the past, etc., the general characteristic is approximately added, it contradicts existence, so the meaning is that the property of not being pervasive is not established. Explaining it itself is "the non-existent dharma." Saying that "the dharma that does not pervade, contradicts existence" is also saying that it is not established, that is, "what is approximately added." This is the ultimate explanation of what is desired. By what is the general characteristic of the pot itself added to it? Unlike cloth, etc., what is similar between the past pot and the present pot? If the present pot is approximately added to the past because of measurable similarity, then there is no difference with cloth. Therefore, "the pot has passed" becomes the meaning of "the cloth has passed," which is answered through the way of differentiation, that is, "here the answer is." "It is not so" means there is no connection, etc. If it is said that there is a connection or similarity? "No," etc. Why? Because it will become existence, so it is said. Other debaters may admit this inference, so it is said "the past, etc., also." Even if sound is applied to non-existent things through approximate addition, it will become that non-existent things become the object, so it is said "is." If it becomes like that, what is the fault? "That also" is said, the object of sound relies on the general characteristic of non-existent things. Therefore, because it relies on non-existent things, non-existent things will be established, like the horns of a rabbit, etc. For that also, it refers to the approximate addition to clarity also. Thinking that it is not approximately existent either. For this second also it is said, sound is said for approximate addition also, it must be approximately existent, etc. If the past and future have no function, therefore
