The fault of repeating what has already been refuted is what is meant by "if also at another time." "It is not" means what the debater says. "Why?" The answer is, it refers to "for that," seeing pillars, etc. "Just that the harmer has not arisen" is not "without harm," because it is too extreme. However, answering that "other than harming, it is only knowledge," is what is meant by "even the absence of harm itself." Whatever causes a reversed appearance is not "without harm," however, to receive the doubt that "it is the nature of obtaining knowledge," is what is meant by "because the meaning is obtained." Saying "there is also a fault in this," is what is meant by "also obtaining meaning." To dispel the doubt of being too extreme, the answer is "for what has meaning." If it is said that because it exists when seeing pillars, etc., it is not a reversed appearance, then the answer is "for seeing the meaning itself." Whatever causes a reversed appearance, when seeing in a dream, there is also seeing meaning, how could there not be? To dispel the doubt of the reason for not obtaining, the answer is "at that time," which means at the time of dreaming. Answering that "for what is unreasonable, this itself is the reason," is what is meant by "if not." To dispel the doubt that "what is unreasonable cannot be established," the answer is "at other times" is the answer. Using "in the special case of the reason for not obtaining," etc., to state and refute, is what is meant by "then how?" "That" refers to another time. "How could seeing and obtaining not change also at another time?" The answer is "obtaining also." If one cannot obtain, then how can one see? To dispel the doubt that "experience cannot be abandoned," the answer is "because it is seeing itself." "What?" is the answer. "What" refers to merely knowledge, or is it different? To explain what others acknowledge, for determining what is different, because it is recognized as a measure of recognition, using "because of recognition," etc., to state, and using "because it is not" to prevent. Why? Because seeing other births in a dream, there is no recognition, so it is said. Seeing other births is seeing in a dream. It is not knowledge, therefore it is recognition.

Because there is no nature of the previous object, some dream consciousnesses do not have an object. How can the pervasion that all consciousnesses have an object be established? If it is thought that because it is similar to other cognitions, after seeing it in other lives, it is inferred that it was seen before, then this way of welcoming doubt is "similar to other cognitions." If here also, from the cognition itself, it can be established that it was seen before, then what is the use of inference? From welcoming this doubt, the example of the city of Gandharvas is mentioned. If you want to know how it is not, then it is said, "For it." For the city of Gandharvas, etc. If that is the case, then it is the answer. The true pot, etc., seen before, because it is similar to cognition, it should be cognized, that is the meaning. If that is the case, then everything will only become mistaken appearances. This refers to the inference that all consciousnesses are mistaken appearances. Memory loss also refers to not only mistaken appearances. Because of memory loss, one will mistake a fish bladder for silver. Like this, this consciousness is for the silver in the shop, recalling that it exists in another place, therefore this consciousness is memory loss. Moreover, if silver, etc., existing in other places appear to other consciousnesses, then the true pot, etc., will also appear in the same way. This has been clarified. This itself has explained, through the uncommon nature, and the nature of the apprehended and the non-object. If you want to know how this itself clarifies, then it is "like this." "What is it" refers to "whatever it is." If it is thought that whether the non-mundane nature was asked to others, then, stating its nature is "others." The answer is "what is said here." "It" refers to the non-mundane wisdom is the thing itself, not consciousness, this is to refute the previous view, that is, "in the apprehended." "For it" is the answer, for those who think it is non-mundane. "From where" for this question, it is said, "in its own nature." Stating the reason is
