The term "attachment to the object of focus" means being particularly attached to the object of focus itself. Similarly, even with things like hair-derived phenomena as the object of focus, they are not truly existent, because in either case, it is only capacity. Why? Because it is believed to be real. For example, in the case of the knowledge that appears as real hair, etc., or in the case of inference following fire, etc., because of the power to perform actions such as binding and burning firewood, which is superior to the appearance, one particularly believes it to be real, and therefore one asserts that this appearance is produced by it. But here, it cannot be established in this way, because there is no different action, and there is no certainty for sound-derived phenomena, etc. The word 'belief' expresses this: although one wants it to appear as existent, it is only belief, and for hair, etc., it is not existent. The reason given for this is "even without belief." This is also connected only by relying on the object of particular attachment. Furthermore, when one examines the appearance itself by the power of connection, the appearance of its hair, etc., and hair-derived phenomena, etc., is not real, not a substance, because for the knowledge that appears there, in either case, there is no understanding of capacity, because there is no difference, because it is impossible for one's own nature to have capacity. Even so, why is it not a substance? If one says it is because it is empty of all capacity, that is not established. Because I am particularly attached to thinking that what I focus on is sound, etc., and because the entry produced by it is certain, etc., therefore, capacity is established in order through direct and indirect means. For it, it is the capacity of bondage that is particularly attached that is absent, but it is not the case that in all cases, its result does not have its capacity. If one doubts how it is not a substance, the answer is: because there is no belief in it as real. This is what is being said: although it is not meaningless in itself, it is said to be unreal because there is no particular belief in different things. Those who seek its function should enter into it.

Therefore. Attachment to it also depends on it. If there is no object to be desired, then there is no doubt about attachment. Therefore, it is especially pleasing to be meaningless. This is to say that when something is said to appear meaningless, it is in the face of the world. It is not just that. How can those who make names also be pleased with meaninglessness? Because seeing, especially attachment, and entering are also there. It is said that there is no faith. Or, in the appearance of appearance, why is it not only meaningless but also not? It is said that there is no faith. It is suspected that there is no harm to appearance. harm There is nothing but recollection, and the nature of appearance is included in the direct perception of self-awareness, so there is no harm. When the sound of meaning is used to mean the object, the namers do not have special faith in the nature of the object. That is the meaning. If you want to say only the object, then it is only established that you have faith, because I have hair and so on, so I have faith. Although it is determined to be a false distinction, it is because there is no thought of only that realm. Therefore, the realm of the distinguished one should be said to be the distinction of truth. Therefore, it is reasonable to attack the truth and answer. In this way, when the ability is different in reality or indirectly, the realm is established as two kinds, and it is shown by the gate of the other three kinds. Whoever understands the nature of metaphor and similarity is the nature of the general. Whoever understands that it is the opposite of everything is the nature of self. Likewise, whoever understands the nature of sound is the general. The other is the nature of self. Likewise, whoever has reasons other than the realm is the general. Whoever does not have it is the nature of self. Such is the organization of the Pramāṇavārttika. In the first category, to welcome the suspicion of too much difference, it is said if.
