Then, the so-called "consciousness" and so on. Here, it is stated by the externalists. The so-called "effort here" means establishing from the nature of having no object of focus. The so-called "how" refers to having an object of focus. If one establishes the absence of an object of focus, will it change the worldly terms? (Answer:) The so-called "object of focus." If the terms do not change in that way, even so, is there another result in establishing the absence of an object of focus? (Answer:) It is said, "From terms." At that time, the statement of "how are the terms" is made by a person of learning, and in that way, it becomes made by a person. But what is the result of the reasonable path of establishing that the statement is not made by a person? There is nothing. (Question:) Or, if it is not not made by a person, then the terms of offerings and so on will disappear? (Answer:) It is said, "By whom." The so-called "therefore" means even if it is not made by a person. The so-called "that" refers to offerings and so on. The so-called "discrimination" is because it is determined that it is not made by a person. The so-called "other" refers to this "only consciousness." This answer is the same for other Buddhas and Buddhas. Saying that is "not made by a person." Furthermore, the so-called "other" and so on, is to state the necessity. The so-called "that" refers to the exhaustion of the faults of desire and so on. Examining that is the "external." For the sake of the meaning of discrimination, temporarily stating the other's sect is "if." The so-called "having its aspect" refers to the external blue and other aspects, whoever has it, that is having its aspect. Also, the so-called "that" refers to the meaning of blue and so on. At that time, that which has no aspect itself sees everything, what is the need to examine some aspects? The meaning of this very aspect of definite cognition is the aspect of seeing. It is not the aspect of blue and so on, that is the meaning. Therefore, is it established that all appearances are only without aspects? (Answer:) To this, it is said, "At that time." The so-called "both" refers to consciousness and meaning.
