The welcoming of extensive doubts is: At all times, is it not fire itself without smoke? If one thinks so, the opponent's response to this is, "If that is the case, then." Just as the characteristics of a multitude of gatherings of palasha trees do not perform meaningful actions, yet exist by their own nature, similarly, what is seen in dreams does not perform meaningful actions, yet exists by its own nature. If one says this, to this, those with established tenets say: A heap of palasha trees does not perform actions for others, but it does perform actions for itself. What is seen in dreams is not like that, therefore how can it be true? This is the meaning. If one says that what is cognized in dreams also performs its own action, then eating in dreams It is said. If it is form that is eaten, then touch is not. What causes satisfaction is also touch, therefore, because there is no touch, eating in a dream does not cause satisfaction, it is not said from here. The answer to what is asked by others is: Habit. These two are contradictory in meaning. Meaning does not arise from the power of habit. Because it is not common, it should also not be one's own realization. Buddhists, all that you cognize in dreams is omniscient, how is it that saying this is not merely a name? The answer is: It is not. Saying that being pleased with what is suitable is its own nature, is of the mind. The reason is, if it does not enter into meaning, if it is not its own nature, it is not wisdom. All these faults should be observed from the meaningful understanding of the wisdom of the mind's own nature. For the side where there is no clarity in the mind, the part that has already been refuted in various ways should be abandoned, it is said. Two people with cataracts only recognize their own appearance, but mistakenly think that the two moons I see are also recognized by the same person, just as they also think that pillars and so on are. What is needed is that those two also, people with cataracts also see two moons. Furthermore, it is also the object of confused knowledge. The answer is: That is not reasonable. Relying on the wisdom of others

Therefore, the common meaning is not realized by direct perception, because other minds cannot enter into it. It is unreasonable to recognize it specifically by thinking, "This is the object of other minds." If one thinks that direct perception can also realize other minds, then it is not so, as it is said. What is called "that itself" is the same nature. If one doubts, "How does another know that such sameness is realized?" then welcome the doubt: it is realized by the world. How is it established as a proof? It is called "how." Prevention is "not." Welcoming doubt is "there also," that is, also in dreams. What is called "existence itself" is realization. If one asks, "How do you know that there is such realization in dreams as well?" the answer is "nature itself," that is, the very nature seen in waking. Therefore, if one asks, "How can one prevent such realization from occurring here and also occurring there?" the answer is "because it is the same as that." This refers to being uncommon with the object of waking. What is called "that also" refers to focusing on dreams. Prevention is "not." What is called "such" refers to the form of another person. What is called "there" refers to in dreams. Just as in the state of dreams, even if there is no other, it appears as the form of another person, so it is also in the state of waking. Therefore, whether in dreams or non-dreams, only one's own essence appears, but in reality, there is no such thing as sameness. What is called "confusion" refers to conceptual fixation, such as horses completely transforming into the nature of humans. Therefore, if one asks, "How are what is seen in dreams and what is seen in waking the same?" the answer is "that is not." Furthermore, the very appearance as blue, etc., is the meaning of confusion. Even if it is determined that confusion is other, it arises from the power of habituation. Because of that reason, how can dreams and non-dreams be established as different states? The answer to this is "without effort." To show that even confusion itself cannot be grasped with certainty, it is said, "This is confusion." What is called "that" refers to in the state of waking.
