If a discriminating wisdom with such characteristics arises, it becomes the understander of that meaning; otherwise, what is called "otherwise" is that if the meaning is not understood, it is not its understander. That is the meaning of waking consciousness. "Other" is by another person. The answer is "also in dreams." Because that exists, what is called "because that exists" is the consciousness of sleep. It is not understood in that way that this mind has not been damaged by sleep. The statement about this is "everything is." Your statement is that whatever the distinction is, for dream consciousness, waking consciousness is the harmer, and the knower of dream consciousness is waking consciousness. Such a nature called "not a harmer" is not anything. However, for those who are awake, trust is seen, therefore waking consciousness itself is the harmer, if it is said so, the answer is "also in dreams." Like that, what is called "like that" is seeing trust. Saying "it is not true," is trust not seen even in dreams? Therefore, dreams also become true. Therefore, what is called "therefore" is that sometimes it is true, sometimes it is not false, because trust is seen. The statement about this is "this also," that is, waking is also. There, what is called "there" is in the state of waking. The answer to this is "this is." There also, in the state of waking, loveliness and so on are seen, but they will be destroyed. On whatever day loveliness is seen, without interruption, such a day that is seen for a long time is also the same in dreams. The subject and example are not established is, at what time when dreams and non-dreams are separately established, waking consciousness is the subject and dream consciousness is the example, if it is established, at what time does the consciousness that establishes difference become valid, at what time how are the subject and example established, the subject and example are not established, but if it is thought that what fault is there in the consciousness of reason itself? The answer is "there is no object itself." That is the consciousness that wants to establish non-dream consciousness, which is called "that." If it is valid, it will become with an object, therefore, consciousness itself

If it is said that the current reason will become uncertain, then it is said, "All valid cognitions." If it is said, how can it be a valid cognition if it has no object? Then it is said, "Because even without an object." To clarify this, it is said, "If." If dreams and other knowledge are not produced with different objects. If it is not so, what difference would one think has been made? It is said, "Those two." The Buddhist establishes non-difference. At that time, what fault is there in other Buddhists? "Is the subject of proof" means that what is to be established is precisely valid cognition. How is that? This refers to the manner of refuting and examining. When refuting and examining in that way, how should one say "Brahman"? If the Vedas are not valid cognition, then, because the Vedas are similar to the language of worldly people, how can the Vedas become the subject of proof? Or, first, completely establish that it is valid cognition. If it is established by valid cognition, will a different subject of proof still be established? To this, it is said, "If it is so." "This" refers to the definition that has already been stated. "If" refers to the necessity. "Prevention" means "not." "Others" refers to the language of worldly people. Then, what is the use of such differences? If one can say what has been established as different from worldly people, that is the difference that should be said, but this also cannot be said, so it is thought. Knowledge is temporary, meaning that what is fully established in a dream that one wants to manifest in a waking state is, from the perspective of this knowledge that exists in a waking state, what is the difference? Or is it non-different? When understanding in this way, how does it become excellent, just like that, it is also similar, and it is related to the previous one. "Others" refers to waking knowledge. "For difference" refers to the difference between dreams and non-dreams, having no object and having an object. "Grasping difference" refers to grasping non-dreams as different from dreams as the subject of proof. "Now" refers to the time when what is to be established is established without an object. "Is it so?" refers to your Vedas also being a common subject of proof for valid and non-valid cognition.

Whatever was previously established as valid cognition ceases to be so when it becomes a valid cognition. Similarly, since the cognition of the subject of a proposition is not a valid cognition, the means of proof that possesses that characteristic will also not be a valid cognition. Not only will reasoning not be established as valid cognition, but if it is combined with the Brahmanical scriptures, it will also be unable to establish fire, etc., on mountains, etc. Therefore, it is indicated by the word "therefore." There, initially, the absence of fire is cognized through the cognition of a common property. At the time when fire is established, the previously existing cognition of a common property is itself not a valid cognition. From that perspective, since the cognition of fire is also not a valid cognition, the object to be proven and the means of proof will be cut off. The term "its apprehension" refers to the common apprehension of reasoning as valid and invalid cognition. Even if it is later established as valid cognition, it will not become invalid cognition, because it is for the purpose of further establishing that common property. So, when will it become valid cognition? It is indicated by the word "if." The statement about this is "that also." When the very nature and validity of the subject of the proposition, which is reasoning, are also established, then, even if it is apprehended by a cognition that establishes a separation from whatever is valid cognition in that reasoning, how can the previously common cognition become valid cognition? It is indicated by the phrase "from that which is valid cognition." When one apprehends that which is the uncommon, which is the opposite of the common, just as one apprehends that which is the opposite of that, if one eliminates that which is to be measured, which is the opposite of the uncommon, that is, the so-called common, then how can the previously common apprehension not become invalid cognition? Nor is it further changed by its own nature. If an additional valid cognition is established, then, it is indicated by the phrase "by its own nature," it will also make the apprehension of the common property very invalid. The opponent also establishes an additional tenet in his own nature, which is indicated by the phrase "if not apprehended." Although the validity of reasoning is only its own nature, nevertheless, since it is not apprehended by the cognition of a common property, it is a meaning that is further stated. The statement about this is "not apprehended." If the validity of the nature of reasoning is not apprehended by the cognition of a subject of a proposition, then its
