It is not non-existent, but existent. This refers to clay and so on. What is called "this" refers to pots and so on. What is called "previous" refers to the cause. When previous births and so on are cognized, whatever mutually related things are, that is the cognition of all forms. From knowing the previous birth, even a kalpa becomes cognition. Thus, from one kalpa to another arising, cognition is possible in the things of cause and effect. Therefore, all beings cognize that very self, that is, the nature. Cognition is what is established within that nature as the accomplisher of happiness and suffering and so on. Therefore, all cognition is indeed possible. That is the conclusion. Thus, in the manner that has been explained, it is shown that all things are cognition. What was done? Abandoning all systems, that is, the views of Brahmins and so on. Buddhists here follow whatever treatise there is, and they should also easily understand that supreme one, that is, the one who has become excellent, the all-knowing one, who is the near necessity. When accomplishing all-knowingness, it is also thought that the cognition of the near necessity is also easily accomplished. In order to enter the Pramāṇavārttika, it is said, "If." What is called "otherwise" refers to what is not actually clear. If following in an unclear manner is also not present, then, for that thing, it will not become a valid cognition. After accepting such a doubt, the other party himself says, "Then," should it also be admitted that even one's own nature is unclear? To this, the refutation says, "It is not." In reality, it is not like that, just as it appears in the discriminating consciousness, things are not like that. Because it is like that, the clear aspect becomes one's own nature, because it is known by self-cognition. One does not discriminate about one's own nature, but for things, because they are unclear, it is born together with discrimination. Thus, in this way, the consciousness that is called memory is the memory of things, but for one's own nature it is direct perception. To this, others say, "For one's own nature." The answer is, "One's own nature is."

Because, it is only by one's own nature that it can be known. Because the meaning experienced by others is known by others. If that is indeed the case, then how would the distinction be made that one is not confused about one's own nature, but is confused about the meaning? Therefore, the action done by it is experienced by others. Another way means the way of being unclear. However, although there is no confusion about one's own nature, if one doubts why it is not conceptualization, by dispelling the confusion itself, the dispelling of conceptualization is also being accomplished, even if one promises, it is stated: Regarding one's own nature. That is of one's own nature. Whatever existed before and the cognition, that itself will become remembrance. Thinking that one's own nature is not like that. However, if one thinks that one's own nature is also merely what existed before, then it is said "if". By that previous one. The so-called "desire" refers to manifestation itself. For meaning, it is not desire for manifestation itself, because for it, it is the cause of conceptualization. The so-called "said" refers to the teacher Dignāga. However, when others hold one's own nature, at that time, because it holds the state of being mixed with sound, if one thinks that it will become with conceptualization, then it is said "by that itself", that is, by one's own nature itself. The so-called "that" refers to one's own nature. Thinking that what is held by others will not become making it manifest. The so-called "other's also" refers to non-conceptual. The so-called "not common" refers to what is thought by others. The object of manifest clinging refers to the one of manifest clinging. That is not referring to one's own body. If one's own nature is not the meaning of sound, even so, then how would holding it not become conceptualization? It is said "the meaning of the sound of conceptualization". The so-called "therefore" is because there is no holding of the meaning of sound. The so-called "because of abandoning" means, when whatever appears in the knowledge of conceptualization, because of abandoning its nature, at the time of obtaining another, although it will become previously unclear, but because it is merely without abandoning one's own nature, therefore one's own nature will also become unclear, that is the meaning.
