It is said, "My experience is not like that." If someone asks, "Then, regarding mental factors, is there no non-apprehension of them as distinct?" The answer is, "Mental factors, etc." What is meant by grasping at characteristics, etc., is that grasping at characteristics is regarded as the aspect of consciousness, not non-conceptualization. Therefore, if someone wonders, "How can it be established as grasping at characteristics, etc.?" The answer is, "It is not." The word "also" in that refers to "also" for non-conceptualization. If someone asks, "How so?" The answer is, "Therefore." The word "before" refers to the chapter on the establishment of valid cognition. Because it arises from the power of meaning. The knowledge of a yogi is that which has such a meaning as its object. Non-existent things, such as a rabbit's horn, are its object. The expression for this is "non-existent." What is the result of such a clear nature? It is capacity. Wherever one meditates on a non-existent object, that also, by the nature of the result, has capacity for the result, connect it in this way. If someone asks, "If something does not arise from the power of meaning, is it only that which is accompanied by conceptualization?" The answer is, "unreal." The word "thus" refers to being an object that is hidden. If, due to the power of deception, conceptualization also contradicts and becomes an aspect of clarity, then what fault is there at that time? The answer is, "Conceptualization is even in dreams." If someone asks, "Doesn't it only become a conceptualization with an unclear aspect in dreams?" The answer is, "Remembering the experience." Non-existent things, because they lack the nature of being and, therefore, when grasping at it, what will appear to consciousness? If someone thinks, "Then, according to your view, how do yogis cognize the past, etc.?" The answer is, "The yogi's." If someone asks, "Aren't cessation, etc., existent? Therefore, are they what is apprehended?" The answer is, "Impurity, etc." The word "if" refers to intention. It is said, "Merely meditating." It is the characteristic of reason, arising from that mind, it is the wisdom of its nature. It is valid cognition, and possessing it, the so-called "yogi's" refers to possessing that wisdom. Tranquility, that is, the samadhi of abiding in tranquility.

Therefore, possessing both wisdom of quiescence and insight, any form itself is related, it is the path of equal entry. If it deviates, isn't it merely the exhaustion of appearances such as water? To this, it is said, "If." "These" refer to the exhaustion of earth and so on. "Just that" refers to just the appearance. "If it appears," if it is thought that just that will become like that, then it is said, "Just the appearance." If it is not analyzable, even so, temporarily meditating on it will become clear, and if meditation becomes clear, then thinking that it cannot be the nature of that, it is also not reasonable, then it is "merely conceptualization." Then, wouldn't meditation become the cause of realizing that? Therefore, even if moments and so on become clear, wouldn't it become not like that? "Valid cognition" is said. "That" refers to the cause of that and so on. If it is reasonable to realize from the perspective of reality, then it must be like that, it is what one wants to ascertain. "If it does not exist, then no one would make it a practice, therefore, how would it become clear?" "Only existence" refers to this. Furthermore, "non-existence" is also. "The fruit of clear and non-discriminating wisdom exists in whom, that is called that." "Becoming other" refers to becoming the cause of unclear knowledge. "The object of what is without deception itself is direct perception," thus connecting it. If asked what that object is, add "previously used." "Having objects of desire and so on" refers to, having the cause of objects of desire and so on, that is not valid cognition. "That" refers to having objects of desire and so on. "The knowledge of those is not born from the power of meditation," if one thinks like this, it is said, "For those too," also for other heretics. "If they have not meditated on the distinctions of their own system, then the common meaning of the world will not be repeated. Thus, the meaning that is common to the world exists in some people, but not in others," this certainty arises from various possibilities.
