It is just the aspect of the object of the pot. One does not say, "This is this, it is hidden," and cannot grasp it in all aspects. However, if one says, "Memory cognizes what is hidden," that is irrelevant, because memory only cognizes its own aspect. That is what it means. "Being like that" means having an unclear aspect. The answer is, "There is no interest in the object," meaning that if the object were real, there would also be interest in the object, but that is not the case, so it is not an object. The aspect of memory is an unclear aspect, and there is no interest in it. If one says, "What I have seen is what memory has made its object," isn't there even more attachment than ordinary people? If one thinks, "How can there be no interest in the object?" then it is said like this. Those with discernment understand it this way, but they are not particularly interested in the object itself. That is what it means. Before that, it is gradually established that memory only manifests its own aspect, and through the power of examples, it is also established that happiness and so on are the nature of self-awareness, so writing the commentary on the Pramāṇavārttika is what "therefore" means. "From the action of experience" means from the action of what has previously entered and manifested. "Those also" refers to happiness and so on. Arising from the action of habit, that is, becoming the nature of the distinctions of touch and so on that are closely present within. The mixing that is spoken of with "then" and so on is what "through that door" means. From the experience of the aspect of happiness that arises from being associated with touch, the action that arises from the mindstream will awaken the function of seeing that nature that is similar to it. The explanation is "not encompassing." "This itself" refers to the very nature of self-awareness. "It is not like that" means that if one could recognize the object simply by experiencing one's own aspect, that would not be possible. However, if one does not actually recognize the object, then the knowledge recognizes other things, and the object and knowledge will not be related.
