"Pala" means just that. "It is inferred as one" means that because it is inferred as such, it becomes the term "one," thus connecting it. If someone asks, how can one presume to be "one"? The answer is, "Two." It means that one with blurred vision sees two moons, while another without blurred vision does not see them, therefore, it is a case of presuming to be "one." "Then, here" refers to happiness and so forth, and their minds. The established tenet school says here, "If." The mind is merely self-awareness, and not happiness and so forth, therefore it does not know the state of other things, therefore "Which mind knows the person?" refers to "I." The mind and self-awareness also know. "However" indicates doubt. Here, it is said, "by oneself." There, it also refers to form and taste, and so forth. "Because of contradiction" means that if it is known by another mind, then it would follow that the experience of another mind would be experienced by another mind. "This" refers to existence and self-awareness, and so forth. Furthermore, if someone thinks that the distinctions of sense perceptions and so forth are not ultimate, then "sense" is said. Knowledge born of sense is called sense knowledge, and the function of sense is also experienced simultaneously with knowledge. Therefore, if someone thinks, if it is merely a cause, then without desire in the prior moment, it is not even established as existence, then how can this be established as a cause or other? "Like form and so forth" is a metaphorical method, form and so forth are also not the cause of knowledge, because they are experienced simultaneously. Others say here, "However." The established tenet school says, "Similarly." "This" refers to the mind with the aspect of happiness and so forth, and happiness and so forth, self-awareness, and "like a pot." The mind with aspect and the knowledge of happiness and so forth, and the sense organ with an object, these are different. Even without nominal designation, this is the view of the established tenet school. "For the particular nature" refers to the uncommon nature.

Indeed. "Not being consciousness" means that it is the nature of inanimate objects, like a vase. The proponent raises a doubt, which is "if." To negate this, it is said, "it is not." Then, how is it consciousness? "By other's other" is said. Furthermore, how can one realize that there is no difference from consciousness? "Like the nature of consciousness," thus distinguishing through reasoning. Happiness, etc., are established through direct perception or inference as being different from consciousness. To refute this, first sequentially, it is "you." Explaining the first half, it is "happiness, etc." Explaining the latter half, it is "inference also." "Different cause" means that a different cause itself is a sign of a different effect. Then, happiness, etc., and consciousness are different effects, thus inferring different causes through inference, can this establish difference? "Different effect" is said. Here also, it is only stated after admitting different effects. Therefore, saying "there is no that" refers to happiness, etc. Now, stating the meaning of Pramāṇavārttika, it is "having a non-different cause." Again, explaining Pramāṇavārttika in another way, it is "again." The statement of others, it is "eye." Stating this, it is "therefore." "Is it so?" means, is it arising? That is happiness, etc. "Not being consciousness" means, why not know? This refers to the meaning of what is cognized by consciousness. At that time, the non-existence of happiness, therefore, is not apprehended, thus refuting, it is said "it is not." This is happiness. "You" also refers to the opponent's position. Thus, it refers to the consciousness of the nature of happiness at all times. "Another way" refers to the way of equanimity. Or, stating with "again," etc., explaining the second combining the meaning of Pramāṇavārttika, it is "if there is a cause." "Not knowing" means that the consciousness that grasps does not exist, therefore it is said that way. Regarding this explanation.
