The term 'dependent on object' is understood as having an excavation (examination), therefore. 'Its self-nature' refers to 'deliberation in advance'. 'That nature' refers to combination. If asked what that truth is, it is said to be 'Purusha'. Because it cannot be determined that Purusha itself is valid, this is its meaning. Saying 'the sign itself is pervasive' is not ultimately true. Why? Because it is said 'by what'. The object related to conceptualization is prior and subsequent, and it is not merely existing in that way, because the collection of things is momentary. Therefore, because there is no object, one wonders, how can it become the term 'indicating object'? Therefore, it is said 'the direct perception related to conceptualization'. If it is said that it is not so famous in the world, then it is said 'this is'. 'Establishing the doctrine of that nature' refers to 'thus'. If it is said that the world understands it in this way, even so it is valid, then it is said 'harmless'. Because it is known by entering in a manifest way, one wonders, how is it subsequent inference? Therefore, it is said 'manifestation is'. Knowing the nature of prior, subsequent, and mixed is not manifestation. If one thinks, for the manifestation of that nature, saying dependent on object, then what is the use of the term dependent on root? Therefore, it is said 'there'. Thus, speaking of terms, the so-called 'dependent on object' refers to the object of the action that is spoken of. Because knowing dependent on object with one month also becomes direct perception. If one says, then dependent on object, although it is sufficient to merely say direct perception, one wonders what fault there is? Therefore, it is said 'for direct perception also'. If one says that the knowledge of the second month is not valid itself, how can it manifest? If one thinks that even relying on the root only indicates manifestation, it is not direct perception itself. Therefore, one wonders, how is relying on the root itself close to being needed? Therefore, it is said 'from manifestation'. If manifestation itself is indicated, then the direct perception itself is indicated by the same reliance on the root itself.

It is the meaning of being called 'that'. This saying, named after the teacher Dignāga. The reason for being contrary to that is because it is contrary to non-discrimination. Being called 'just like that' is the nature of mutually abandoning each other. The general holder, the nature of being with discrimination, the one who discriminates for the sake of establishing independence, is called a collection. The difference from that is that apart from being revealed by the basis of the general, there is no other collection appearing. This is the near-establishment of non-perception. The other is the name of the collection's totality, which is different from the manifest ones, called 'totality'. Even if it is admitted to appear, it is other, that is, it does not appear, because it is not a collection. To know independently is not reasonable as the collection itself, because it is the nature of having a connection. Even if it is that, called appearing independently, even if it depends on the manifest, when it is the nature of the general, it is also those themselves, called the manifest ones that have become the basis of the general. The intention of the second discrimination is, however. That also, called the answer. The nature is other-dependent, that also. If it is said that the collection of the object of discrimination itself is the object of direct perception, then it is said to have been discriminated. In relation to the other, those particles that have not given rise to the power of being a cause are called 'such'. The coarse, which is not subtle, is called 'such' to those who see it. Therefore, called 'therefore', therefore when the other exists. Everything arises. If you think what will happen with that, then it is said that that knowledge is. This is called doubt. The established limit is, by sound etc. Whatever is one's own cause etc., those who do not have the ability to create their own image, therefore, it does not appear from that. Or, by 'if it is so' etc., having been established as confusion itself, it contradicts direct perception itself. Also establishing it as being with discrimination itself is even more. However, there, it is for direct perception. In relation to discrimination, those that do not have appearance arising are called 'such'. If it has become like that, then the one with discrimination is not said for direct perception. Grasping.
