Thus spoke the Blessed One. Furthermore, how can combination not be directly perceived? It is said "with fire," because there is no sense consciousness for the realm of fire. How can combination become directly perceived? If direct perception does not grasp the fire, even so, is the combination directly perceived? Because what is not grasped is not a combination. The so-called "only inference" means not directly perceived. The so-called "not grasped by direct perception" refers to fire and so on. The so-called "that with" refers to the recognition of the place and fire, which is fire and so on, and is directly perceived. The so-called "knowing the direction with that" contradicts one's own words. For what is merely recognition, how can there be a difference in recognition? This is a question. Thus, for the time being, the established tenet has shown that combination is impossible through direct perception. Other tenets say that inference is impossible, that is, "inference" and so on. Inference does not arise in the realm of mountains and so on. If one thinks that even if the place is not recognized by inference, it can still be combined, then it has been said "not grasped." If one thinks that the place is also recognized by inference, then it is said "the meaning of direct perception." If one admits that the place is known by inference, then it will not become direct perception. Or, in order to seek the establishment of valid cognition, if one thinks that the object of direct perception is also known by inference, then it is said that one does not want the establishment of valid cognition to be destroyed. In this regard, what is said by the established tenet is "in reality." If one asks how the place and fire are, then it is said "such an aspect." The so-called "both" refers to direct perception and the aspect of proof. Direct perception is merely grasping particles and so on, while inference is the aspect itself, because it is the cause of inference and is the occasion for the cause of knowledge. Proof is also obtained indirectly, so the meaning is arising following that direct perception and the aspect of proof. Conceptual thought is differential speech, that is, "this with this." The so-called "that also" refers to conceptual thought. In order to state the meaning of this reason, the place.
