If it is said to "become so," then (the Buddha) said, "It is so." "However" means "of others." If that is the case, then it means that merely the past (cognition) has become what happened. And the present (cognition) will become directly apprehended. This is what others think. The answer is, "If that is the case." How, in the later period of consciousness, is it like cognizing the nature of both, it was the same before, so the past itself also exists, like this. At all times it is past, cognizing things by causes and conditions, that is at all times, it is not present at different times. If that is the case, it would be unreasonable for the cognition of things to exist, because it is unreasonable to show that the past is the present. However, it should be understood that the cognition of things happened before, and now it happens. If it is said that it will not become "one," it is because the present and the past abandon each other and are contradictory. However, if the past and the present are thus one, then both will be considered as the present and the past. If it is gradually considered as both, then it is said to cognize gradually. How can we distinguish it like the object directly cognized? If it is not so, wouldn't it become confusion? Because directly cognizing as the nature of blue will also become not blue. Similarly, if it appears as a gradual perception, then this will become merely gradual, and it is impossible to cognize gradually without gradation. How can the gradual become one? If it is thought that how is it unreasonable for one, then (the answer) is to abandon one. If it is certain that it is impossible to cognize gradually, then will it become memory? (The answer) is memory also... Whether it is the discriminating mind that cognizes things, whether it is the nature of perception, or the nature of memory, or the nature of inference,

Therefore, it will become that one will not think, "This is my own mind." Because whether it is the conceptual thought of others or one's own mind, there is no difference in the memory of the past. If one asks how this should be understood, it means asking what the meaning of this is. The so-called "wanting it to be so" refers to those who say there is no self-awareness, such as those with knowledge, etc., just as one completely determines the minds of others with other minds, they also want to completely determine their own minds. Therefore, how could such an excessive error occur to that? What is said to clarify the second kind of conceptual thought is "however." If determining the minds of others and determining one's own mind are the same, then that kind of situation said by others does not exist. The so-called "because there is no determining of the minds of others" means that because determining the minds of others and determining one's own mind are not the same. To clarify this, it is "the minds of others are." The so-called "how to determine" refers to one's own mind. The so-called "if it is not so" means that if what is manifest also becomes the past. That also refers to inference. The so-called "same" refers to determining the minds of others and determining one's own mind. The so-called "with the measure of measurement" refers to understanding the meaning, etc. Also, if inference itself has no difference, would one think that like the minds of others, one's own mind is also related to others? The so-called "other" refers to the nature of one's own mind. The so-called "in another way" refers to the nature of the minds of others. If one clings to the nature of manifestation, then in the memory of inference, it is possible to determine that this is the nature of one's own mind. If one wants to know how it is possible, it is because of following the previous clinging, that is, because of following. If manifestation has never recognized its nature, then how would inference recognize it at that time? This is what is being considered. The so-called "similarly" is because there is no connection with others in manifestation. Reproaching one's own tenets.
