It is like that. Therefore, just as inference, which is separate from direct perception, places the object to be inferred by inference nearby, so too should the doorkeeper of sound place their respective objects nearby, that is its meaning. Speaking in the manner of the second distinction is "even the hidden nature itself." This means that, for the time being, inference does not merely establish the object of direct perception. Nor is it a promise. If it cannot even understand the hidden, then how can inference establish two kinds of objects at that time? That is its meaning. Stating the reason is that even if it enters the hidden, inference is meaningless, and so on, which is easy to understand. To "like seeing without eyes," add "how." "Therefore," etc., is said to eliminate the first distinction by way of summarizing. This is what is being said: Direct perception only engages in acting on one object, while inference does not act on even one, so in any case, in the two valid cognitions, from where does it become two valid cognitions, and how does it establish two objects to be measured? That is its meaning. "It is contradictory," etc., refers to when the two valid cognitions establish two objects to be measured. "Uncertain" is also said, if also. "Since it is not contradictory for another valid cognition to engage with one object," showing that the two objects to be measured cannot be pervaded by the two valid cognitions is "without the establishment of a relationship." Direct perception is the nature of establishing pervasion, it cannot even slightly show it. Because that is unreasonable in the general object. Inference is also just clear, that is what is thought. Like "this," etc., is a summary. The established limit is that the first distinction is admitted. If the two objects are established by direct perception, then there is no debate about what inference does, like this, direct perception establishes the duality of the object, but not two objects. If that is the case, then how is it that the subject, which is not established by direct perception, has the predicate established? Because if the subject is not understood, then the predicate

If asked why, it is because recognizing the similarity and difference of what is said is the nature of action. Therefore, what is to be recognized manifests similarity and difference. Because of darkness, recognizing trembling, which can manifest the similarity and difference of what is to be recognized, that depends on the form of knowledge, therefore knowledge itself is the dharma of recognition, not the dharma of the object. This shows the seed of not recognizing the object. To show how it is established without touching the object, it is said, "That also." Because self-awareness is not allowed on the object, how does inference become meaningless? This is its meaning. However, if, like not touching the object, its similarity and difference cannot be recognized, then any recognition is only the form of knowledge, therefore, how can it be established as a dualistic object? Or, if it is said that the two forms residing on it are recognized because of particularly clinging to one's own form, then, if that is the case, then recognizing one's own form is recognizing the external object, therefore, isn't inference in vain? There is no meaning to this, because in the form of inference, the form of recognition is so certain. Manifest perception cannot make hidden things manifest. To this, if it is again established that the self-nature knowledge of inference can recognize the external object, even so, it is established as inference depending on the external object, not self-awareness. This is to prevent confused recognition like root consciousness. The external object to be recognized is only recognized as a similar form at the time of inference, and that is not the agent of inference itself. Like fire, that form is not hidden. For the hidden aspect, one's own appearance is allowed, but it is not possible to recognize any dharma of the mind. Therefore, when one distinguishes similarity and difference through the self-nature of knowledge, it can also be said that relying on the object is also established by knowledge itself, and
