It is the object of dependence. If it changes, then this change itself is the faultless characteristic of taking closely, as it has been shown before. Moreover, repetition is for the sake of forgetting the difference. If some minds are not the object of support and dependence, if there is doubt that it is only the body and not, then in order to determine that the mind is dependent, just say something general, saying "however," the mind and wisdom, etc., themselves are the object of support and dependence, thus connecting them. Because of realization, the mind has the nature of habituation, and the differences of realization such as wisdom and love that arose earlier are all dependent. From where does such a thought arise? From "like this" etc. The function of the mind is habituation, and its difference is the characteristic of increase and decrease. Therefore, wisdom etc. will become excellent and decrease, but not only neither of the two. This "this" does not follow increase and decrease, like the body and mind etc. Whatever are the light of a lamp etc., are the light of jewels etc. This shows that, thus speaking, dependence itself pervades the support following increase and decrease, because without it, the body and wisdom etc. are not. If it is only seen that the body also changes from increase and decrease, how is the body not the support? "From that" is also said, that is, from the body. The so-called "previous mind" is of the nature of habituation. The so-called mind is of the nature of wisdom and love etc. Therefore, because the mind does not follow the increase and decrease of the body, the light of a lamp is not an example, because the lamp does not follow the increase and decrease of the wick. Therefore, for example, why say that the light of a lamp will also go out when the wick goes out? "If" is someone else's question. If the mind is created by the difference of the function of the mind, even so, it only depends on the body, for example, although the lamp does not change, it is only close to the wick.

Just as the light of a lamp does not change because of the wick, etc., but depends on the lamp. Therefore, even if the support does not increase or decrease, one sees the support with increase and decrease, so how can it be said that dependence on it necessarily follows it? This is not an established tenet. The lamp itself changes, but not the body. This is the case when snakes, etc., approach. The characteristic of "weakened splendor" means that the light becomes smaller. Although ghee, etc., from its own assembly, has the appearance of the lamp's light being clear, it is seen that it becomes smaller merely by the approach of snakes, etc. What is to be said here? Even with the approach of snakes, etc., the change in the lamp's assembly is not observed. Why should it only be said that the lamp changes? The answer to this is, if the change in the lamp's assembly is not obvious, then what contradiction is there in inferring it from seeing the lamp change? Because if the cause does not change, the result is not seen to change. In the current situation, the change of the lamp that produces the light of change is determined by unerring direct perception, this is what is thought. Therefore, "therefore" means that the change of the lamp is the characteristic of weakened splendor. "Another way" means the nature of unclearness. If the change of the body also leads to the change of the mind, then the light of the lamp as an example has no contradiction, this is what is thought. For example, when the light of the lamp changes, snakes, etc., cause the lamp to change through the way the cause changes, just like this, the function of the mind is the characteristic of habit, and the different minds such as wisdom, at these times, the change of the body is not seen. Therefore, how can the light of the lamp be an example? This is what is thought. To explain "besides this", "if" is said. Therefore, "body" means that in either case, the meaning is the same, this is what is thought. Like this, merely being other is not considered a support, because the basic body is the same.
