I will not turn away from peace because of that, because the abiding wind has been established as always existing in everything. If you think of saying that the abiding wind is the cause, then it is said "if", which means the second aspect. To show that there is still the fault of the occasion at that time, it is said "if the abiding wind". At that time, there is no turning back, because the mind is emitted and drawn from the breath that arises from the body, so this body itself is the root cause. Therefore, the fault of not turning back is obvious. "However" is the explanation of the first half. "If it is the cause" refers to the abiding wind itself. Because there is no exhaling and inhaling, the statement that the mind wants to turn back cannot be obtained, because exhaling and inhaling themselves do not turn back. Thus, the first half of the Commentary on Valid Cognition is explained, and the second half is explained next, which is "exhaling and inhaling". From the increase and decrease of exhaling and inhaling, there is no end to the increase and decrease of consciousness. Therefore, they are not the main cause of the mind. Even if exhaling and inhaling are admitted as the cause of the mind, the fault of the statement will not turn back, so it is said "also for them", that is, the fault is the same for exhaling and inhaling. Because the unobstructed body exists, it is thought that the mind will not turn back. The main explanation is "exhaling and inhaling". "Thinking like this" and so on is the explanation of the remaining three verses. If the body exists, then exhaling and so on will not turn back, so the mind exists, and the combination is done in this way, which is "the mind is abiding". If you want the fault of the mind to arise, relative to the mind that wants to be born, if you want the previous dying mind, and the last mind is also the previous one, then it will not turn back. The last and the near are the dwelling place of the body. The last is the dwelling place of breathing. The karma that enters together with existence in that body is the name of that. This shows existence and karma. Ignorance is also to be shown closely. The nature of ignorance and so on is action, which is the seed of habit.

Yes. If one wants to generate actions (karma), then when the previous consciousness is awakened and it becomes that, does it generate consciousness from that body as before, or elsewhere, that is, in another birth? From where does this distinction come? To this, it is said, "Habits," and so on. When a certain habit is awakened, there will be some habits that cause that body itself to experience pleasure and pain, and so on; there are also some habits that, when awakened, will cause other bodies to experience pleasure and pain, and so on. Among them, the first case is through the differences of benefits, wanting to arise in that body, relying on others and others, causing the previous previous consciousness to be awakened; the second case is through the pain of vital points, and so on, relying on the consciousness that wants to arise, causing the previous, which has become the last, consciousness to be awakened. Similarly, the seeds of habits, as previously stated, should be regarded as diverse. That habits have no beginning is undeniable, because it is visible. The saying "for example" means this. This actually directly explains that knowledge is diverse. That habits are diverse is said indirectly. Similarly, the conditions that awaken habits should also be inferred. Diverse consciousness is not caused by diverse objects, because objects are empty. Otherwise, if one also says that the appearing aspect is a habit, then it is difficult to accept. Like this, because the object is not close, is it not appearing? Or why would it not become non-inverted knowledge? If one asks in this way, then one must acknowledge that the knowledge stream of this state is a fabricated difference, is the merit of the self arising from knowledge, or, if there is no self, then it is because the immediately following condition is a difference in ability. Is habit the ability itself? Even if it is fabricated, there is no difference. Therefore, the conclusion is that because the cause of awakening habits is diverse, the awakened habits are also diverse. Therefore, consciousness will return from the dead body. If only the body is the cause, will consciousness also return? The answer is that even if only the body is the cause, it is not, thus it is said, reasoning and so on are remaining. Returning and so on are also later matters.
