In some rebirths of sentient beings, the scriptures have pointed out that there is continuity. However, this "however" belongs to others. If the scriptures also point out that there is continuity in some sentient beings, even so, this is not established through valid cognition. Therefore, the dharma of the scriptures is not valid cognition. Therefore, if it is established that the last mind of an Arhat is without continuity, then, because it is not valid cognition, there may be a contradiction between continuity and the mind of death, that is its meaning. The meaning of refutation is this: If it is said in this way that the scriptures, which are valid cognition for the non-continuity of the Arhat's mind, are not valid cognition for establishing the continuity of the mind of samsara, then that is also unreasonable. Because it must be either valid cognition or not valid cognition, so temporarily on the side of being valid cognition, it is said "If it is an established extreme." Because the continuity it indicates is not seen by direct perception, so if it is an established extreme, it is harmed by valid cognition. If you want to establish that the non-continuity of the Arhat's mind is contradictory in these two ways, then it will become "if." Because this has the meaning of being established or harmed by valid cognition, therefore non-establishment is meaningful. For the meaning of the non-continuity of the Arhat's mind, is it following or what? The way of the non-continuity of the Arhat's mind cannot establish contradiction. The meaning of "If you want" is: For example, in some of your cases it is valid cognition, and in some cases it is not valid cognition, similarly, it is also so in my two cases, that is its meaning. To explain the latter half, expressing the thoughts of others is from "however" to "if you want." Expressing that the form of doubt exists in the Commentary on Valid Cognition itself is from "if" to "not." If the mind of death of an Arhat is not continuous, even so, it is not because it is the mind of death, but because the cause is not complete. If it is established that the mind of the state of death is not continuous, then at that time, it will be the same in the case of other sentient beings. The answer is that it is precisely because it is separated from the cause. If this is established in order to be able to establish what is to be established, then, the mind of death is the subject to be proven, it is the dharma of non-continuity, because it is separated from the cause.

It means that it is like a mother's mind, and it can be said like that. Although saying this can establish, in order to show that it is not possible to establish what is obviously intended to be established, therefore, repeating the explanation again is "or else." Because the cause, that is, the arising agent, is separated, that is, because it is powerless due to illness, etc. Separation is the reason, but because it is uncertain, it is not the mind of death. Why is the last sentence not said? This is to supplement the part and explain: What remains here to be said? If other reasons are not given, then how can the remainder be said? The answer is: This, too. How? The answer is: Starting from "the previous one," etc. The so-called remainder is to connect the reason itself, for what purpose? In order to eliminate the doubt that this establishment has not been established, therefore, it is explained again in another way, which is "or else." That which is separated from the cause. The so-called "self" word is another order, why is it not destroyed? That is the destruction itself. What exists, what does not exist? What connects from the outside? This shows this meaning. However, "again" is to welcome other doubts. If the previous consciousness is the cause, then it will become unestablished, the cause is the body, and the body may become incomplete due to illness, etc., that's what I thought. Refuting, if the body is the cause, is this reasonable? I think it's not like that. This has been said before, this is to say the remaining part. After saying "with two kinds of bodies," repeating what others have said, and then distinguishing separately or becoming another cause. In order to eliminate the first distinction, it is "because it is grasped as its consciousness." It means that the consciousness of that sense faculty, which is different from the consciousness of mind, will also be perceived by the consciousness of mind. Also, as its consciousness, the consciousness of mind follows the function of the sense faculty to take the object. After that, when the sense faculty is not functioning, the consciousness of mind will not exist. Or, as its consciousness, it means that if the sense faculty changes, it will change, and the mind
